DON'T BE WEARY

Text : Gal 6:9 KJV   *And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.*  Based on the attitude and reactions of some people, there's tendency to be weary in well doing. But, *When you allow people bring out bad reactions in you, it's because you have the bad in you already.*  Someone who is consistent always behaves in the same way, regardless of people's actions or reactions.  Paul admonished us not to be tired of doing what is right because of one basic reason : 1. *You shall reap it at the right time.* Now, you are only guaranteed harvest if you do not give up. *It does not matter how many good you have done in the past, what matters is, are you still in the business of doing good?*  Yes, I know some people are masters in paying good with evil, but they shouldn't deter nor debar you from doing good. As a matter of fact, *the instruction is not to do good to those who will pay you back with good but to all and sundry.*  '

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES(3)

Text: 1 Samuel  30:6    *And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.*  Personal encouragement must be done in the Lord  and not in yourself. The moment David encouraged himself in the Lord,, he received help. David asked Abiathar the priest to bring him the ephod for consultation. This is more like consulting God iin the place of prayer..  Philippians 4:6 shows us the  3 necessary keys to overcoming challenges : "Be careful for *nothing* ; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God" 1. Being  careful for nothing. is to avoid anxiety and worry in the face of distress, pressure or challenges. This must be a deliberate step you must take.  No matter the challenges  that may come your way, you must not allow fear and anxiety  overthrow your faith in G

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES(2)

Text: 1 Samuel  30:6    *And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.*   *In all of your challenges,  you are always presented with two options- overcome or be overcome by it*  Today we shall be looking at how David handled and overcame his own challenging moments.  David returned home from following Achish (one of the Philistines Lords ) to war against Israel.  When he got back home (Ziklag), on the third day, he realised that the Amalekites had invaded his camp.  As a result, David and his men had the following challenges to either cope with or solve: 1.  They had taken the women in  ZiKlag captive, from young to old.  2. The town had been burnt down.  3 . Their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captives. 4.  David was in great danger because all the people were bittered because of their sons and

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

Text: 1 Samuel  30:6    *And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.*   *One major truth every man must embrace is that, just as none is shielded from the light of the sun; so also, none is shielded from the challenges of life.*  At one point in your life, you will face one challenge or the other.  *Challenge is a constant factor in life. Irrespective of your background, status, position or achievements, you are not in anyway excused from the challenges that life pose.*  The only cushion and coverings any man could enjoy can only be found in Christ Jesus. He warned His disciples of the  tribulations (pressing, trials, distress,  frustration) that every of His followers will encounter in this world.  _I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulat

CHOICE

Text: Proverbs 22:1    *A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold*   *One of the greatest powers and responsibilities God has saddled man with, is the ability to decide and choose.*  God however did not leave man in the dark, He always clearly instructs man to choose the best option. For instance in Deuteronomy 30:19, God set before man life and death, blessing and curse: and He clearly advised man to choose life. *Choosing life eternal is a choice you have to make*  In our text, God instructed that a good name be chosen rather than great riches.    So many people have sold off good name for great riches. When you consider great riches above good name, you do everything even at the expense of good name to get it. So, what is good name? A good name is the image and identity of those whose lives are consistent with the standard of God. _However, God’s solid foundation still stands. It has this inscription on it: “The Lord knows

NAMES 2

Text : Ruth 1:2 ISV   *The man’s name was Elimelech, his wife’s name was Naomi, and their two sons were named Mahlon and Chilion—Ephrathites from Bethlehem of Judah. They journeyed to the country of Moab and lived there for some time.*  Yesterday, we looked into the meanings of the names of some of the Characters in our study text, today,  we will attempt to look into one  of the rest characters : 1. *Chilion :* This is the name of the second son of Elimelech and Naomi. And his name means 'Pining' which means destruction, languishing consumption, annihilation or  failing.   *Regardless of the terrible circumstances surrounding your conception, you should never give a bad name to your child.*  Rachel, Jacob's wife in Genesis 38:18 named her son Benoni which means 'child of my sorrow' because of the enormous pain she went through during delivery. She died immediately after giving birth to the child. But if not for the sensitivity and wisdom of her husband, who changed

NAMES

Text : Ruth 1:2 ISV   *The man’s name was Elimelech, his wife’s name was Naomi, and their two sons were named Mahlon and Chilion—Ephrathites from Bethlehem of Judah. They journeyed to the country of Moab and lived there for some time.*   *Names are more than your identity,  it speaks volume about your personality.*  I've had reasons to ask quite a number of  people for the meaning of their names,  and I'm surprised or should I say appalled at how a chunk percentage of them do not know the meaning of the names they answer.  Some parents named their children only for alliteration sake. If you asked them,  they will say "I want all my children's name to start with letter 'S', " with little or no consideration for its meaning.  At times, some go to social media asking just anybody to help them with a name for their wards,  how very pathetic. Well, this is so because they lacked the understanding of the imports of names.  Such was the case of the family recount

SOWING AND REAPING

Text : Galatian 6:7  *Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.*  Most times,  when topic of sowing and reaping is raised,  what readily comes to mind is money.  Well,  money is one of the things that can be sown, but our emphasis today is not on money.  The truth is,  *everything we do here- ( on earth) is governed by the principle of sowing and reaping. Living in the consciousness of this helps you to sow reasonably.*  Gen 8:22 says While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. This is God's sworn promise to mankind.  Now Gal. 6:7 says,  don't be deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  Whatsoever means what so ever,  either good or bad. *It is sheer deception  to sow evil and expects to reap good. WHATEVER YOU SOW YOU WILL REAP.*  Luke 6:44 says because every tree is known by its own fruit. People don’t gat

WISE HARLOT 2

Text : Joshua 2:1.  *And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.*  Yesterday, we looked into some of the features that qualified Rahab to be regarded as a wise harlot. Today, we shall look into more of these features.  However, it's important to note again that Rahab is a type of a fallen man, If she received salvation, then, man has a big hope through Jesus Christ. *God has made adequate provision for man to transit from being a harlot, who has prostituted with this world, to being the redeemed of the Lord.*  Below are some of the steps she took : 1. She took them to the roof of her house. Joshua 2:6. The roof is the topmost layer of any house. She didn't just welcome these soldiers in her house, she hid them at the topmost part of the house.  This connotes that *God must be given the topmost priority in your life. When you

Beware of Delilah's 2

Text* ; Judges 16:6  *_So Delilah asked  Samson, please tell me the secret to your great strength and how you may be tied up and tortured. ( ISV)._*  Yesterday, we established what Delilah stands for, today, we shall be looking at her operations and the way out.  *HOW DELILAH OPERATES*  From our text, it was clear what Delilah's missions are: 1. They go after the source of one's power and inspiration with the sole aim of destroying it. Judges 16:6 2. They are persistently consistent in demanding for the source of your power and strength- your commitment and love for God, your prayer time, your study time, your fellowship time, your morals, your values, your virtues etc, Judged 16:10, 13, 15. 3. They are sentimental (appealing only to your emotions) and soft (having no core values) and most times,  they are fun to be with. Judges 17:19 4. They stay very close to you until their missions are accomplished. Judges 16:20-21. 5. They show no mercy.      *HOW TO ESCAPE*  1. Enter not

WISE HARLOT

Text : Joshua 2:1.  *And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.*  A number of stories from the Old Testament were written so we can learn from them and lead a better life. 2Tim 3:16 says All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Today, we shall be gleaning some lessons from the life of Rahab, the harlot.  First, let's look into what the characters in our text stand for.  The Harlot Rahab, typified the fallen man. Jericho typified this present world, the two Spies typified God's message and His messangers, and Joshua typified God. It was on record that everyone in Jericho had heard what and how the LORD parted the water of the Red sea for the Isrealites when they came out of Egypt; and what Joshua did unto the two kings of the Amo

Beware of Delilah's

Texts: Judges 16:4  *Some time later,  he fell in love with a woman named Delilah., who lived in the  Sorek Valley.*  The story of Samson and Delilah is such a popular one,  but the lessons from their story is undoubtedly timeless.  While it is possible to be viewing Delilah from the women's perspective only, we should be careful to note that the message is more about what Delilah stands for or what she signifies.  First,  let's look into the meaning of the name "Delilah ". For the record,  Delilah was not a prostitute so to speak (at least the Bible didn't introduce her as such).  She was simply  a woman. Hence,  any (so called) woman or man can play the role of a Delilah if you are not watchful.   *The meaning of Delilah:*  Delilah simply means Languishing which means: 1. To lose strength and become weak.  2. To be in a state of weakness or sickness.  3. To have low spirits(morale) especially from love sickness 4. To live in a miserable or disheartening conditio

TAKE COUNSEL

Text : Isa 11:3.  *His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He won’t judge by what his eyes see, nor decide disputes by what his ears hear.*   *It is natural for a natural man to judge based on what he sees and ears. But physical sight and ears are not true yardstick of judgement for a Spiritual man.*  Things are not always what they seem. Never take anything from the face level. Remember that the spiritual rules the physical, so don't live as just mere mortals.  A dramatic event happened in the book of Joshua chapter nine that we should glean from : After the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and Ai, they took the initiative by preparing their provisions shrewdly: they took tattered sacks for their donkeys, worn-out, torn, and mended wineskins, worn-out, patched sandals for their feet, and worn-out clothes. All of their food was dried out and covered in mold. Then they approached Joshua in the camp at Gilgal and addressed him and the Israelis, “We

GOD'S DELIGHT* (2)

Text : Jeremiah 9:24   *But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.*  We saw yesterday that certain things that man glory himself in are not the things that God takes delight in. Rather, God wants man to glory in:  *1. Understanding* : Personal understanding of who God is brings Him delight. *God is delighted and you are enlightened when you continually  receive the revelation of  Jesus Christ.* That is the reason Paul prayed for the Ephesian Church,   _that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him...._ Seeking to understand God can only be achieved through personal and dilligent walk with the Lord. Prior to receiving understanding of God,you must first of all seek to walk in Faith and Love. Paul began to ask God to give th

GOD'S DELIGHT

Text : Jeremiah 9:24   *But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.*  Many things delights your soul which does not necessarily delights the Father's heart. But  *Until God's delight becomes your pursuit and your delight, you will never find REST for your soul.*  Before I Look into the things that bring delight to God, let's quickly mention those things that men delight in. Note that whatever you delight in is what you glory in and when you glory in anything other than God, that thing may be occupying a rivalry position in your life with God. Sooner or later such may become a god. Apostle Paul made up his mind not to glory in anything else other than the cross.     _But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the wor

HEART THAT MATTERS

Text : Isaiah 66:2  *....But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.*   *There are looks and physical appearances that are approved by men but displeaaing to God* Prior to the time God asked Samuel to go anoint David as the next King of Israel; He said to Samuel, _"...the LORD *has sought him a man after his own heart,* and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people..."_ (1 Sam.13:14) The above statement shows that God is always on the search for a man after his own heart.   Once upon a time, God was on a search adventure for another king in Israel(having rejected Saul). He surveyed and searched all the families in Israel. God stopped at the house of Jesse, and began the assessment from the first born (Eliab) to the seventh son of Jesse.  Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these_ 1 Samuel 16:10. God rejected all the seven

FERTILE GROUND

Text : Luke 6:38.  *Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.*  Any farmer who knows his onions knows that  fertile ground is one  factor to be considered if bountuful harvest is his goal. The same principle applies in giving. Whenever you give,  you will surely have it back in multiple folds, provided you give into a fertile ground.  Below are examples of some of the fertile grounds we are enjoined to give into: 1. *The Poor :* Giving to the poor is synonymous to lending God money, Can you imagine what that means?  Whoever is kind to the poor is lending to the LORD—   the benefit of his gift will return to him in abundance.Pro 19:17. Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell what you own and give the money to the destitute, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come back and follow me.”Mat 19:

SHUT THAT LION'S MOUTH

Text : By faith these people......shut the mouths of lions. King Darius called out to Daniel to know if his God has been able to deliver him from the lions. This call shows that king Darius : 1. Had a quantum belief in Daniel's God.  2. had a question for the God of Daniel if He can truly deliver. “O Daniel, servant of the living God, _has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?_ ” Daniel 6:20  *Trying times always present you the opportunity and platform to prove God's power*   *When you stand for God in trying times, you will realise that he is truly God of all possibilities*  Daniel, not minding to be thrown into the den of lions refused to offer petitions to King Darius except to the God of heaven and earth. (Daniel 6:7). By this singular act of faith, Daniel was able to shut the mouth of lions in the Den.  *Until you take a step in Faith to defend your total and uncompromising belief in God, you will not experience God's interve

GIVE

Text : Luke 6:38.  *Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.*  When my little boy was much younger,  if he needs anything from you, he will quote " it's good to give", but if you need him to give you anything,  he will say "beggy beggy is not good o." Funny as that may sound,  that's exactly the disposition of many Christians towards giving. We are fast to receive  but slow to give.  We know it is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35. Yet,  many prefer to be the receiver rather than the giver.   *Somethings don't just answer to prayers, they answer to principles, and   giving is one of those things.*  One of the teachings  Jesus gave to His disciples is 'GIVING'. To receive is to give.  And  *one beautiful thing about giving is, you always get more than you gav

REWARD 2

Text : Mat 16:27.  *For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.*  *It is wisdom to take every word that comes directly from Jesus very seriously because it will come to pass.*  Jesus told His disciples empathically that He shall come  back in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works. Two things stood out from this statement : 1. It is so certain that He (Jesus) will come back to this world again. The second coming of our Lord is so sure. How are you preparing for His return?  2. He is coming back with rewards. And the reward is not general,  it is according to individuals' work.  That is, *you are the sole determinant of the kind of reward you get, your works spelt out your reward.*  Also, in Rev 22:12 Jesus declared again that  "behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.&quo

Reward

Text : Mat 16:27.  *For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.*  *There's no one that understands and gives reward for work done like God.*  Heb 11:6 says But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that *he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.*  Unlike men, God is a just rewarder. He can't be bribed because He's  no respecter of persons, and He can't forget to repay because He is omniscient. He is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  *Once you lose sight of the reward,  you lose the zeal to fight and the motivation to win.*  Before any rational man engages in anything, he asks himself ( albeit silently) and at times,  openly that "what's in it for me?   David said, "What shall be done to the man that kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncirc

AGAINST HOPE

Text. : Romans 4:18   *Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be* . There are situations that stir at you and all you see is hopelessness. But  *When you make up your mind to choose God as your ultimate Hope in all situation, you shall never be stranded in this world.* . Today, God would have us look into the life of a Moabitess who followed God's plan all the way, even in the absence of any word of encouragement or definte promise to rely on.   Ruth(the Moabitess), did not receive any direct word from God, yet she believed in hope against hope.  Ruth simply saw the God of Israel as One that can be relied on. After much discouraging and hopeless words from Naomi, all that Ruth would say was:  _Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord pun

KEEP YOUR WATCH

Text. : Mark 13:35.  *_You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the master of the household will return—in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak_ .*  The coming of Jesus is imminent and so we must watch how we conduct ourselves in this present adulterous and perversed generation. Jesus emphatically told His disciples in  Mark 13:32 that He himself is not privy to the time this age will be closing.  Hence, he urged His disciples to do 3 things: *Take heed* ,  *Watch* and *Pray.*  This means that Jesus would have all His followers prepared and watch out for His sudden re-appearance. He will first appear to gather His Saints to Himself in the air.  This is rapture. 1Thess 4:15-17. Rapture can take place at anytime from now, as It is also part of the signs of end time. Rapture shall precede Jesus' second coming.  When Jesus appear the second time, All eyes shall see Him just as they saw Him in flesh when He came to Israel the first time.  The whole world will

HOW READY ARE YOU?

Text. : Mark 13:35.  *_You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the master of the household will return—in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak_ .*   *Get ready to meet the  Lord anytime He comes- Rapture and Jesus' second coming are realities that must come to pass.**   As I engage many young and active church goers on a simple question : " if they would make it  should Jesus suddenly appear during our conversation." The over 98% sincere responses I always got make me a bit concerned about what we do in our church buildings. Two questions that readily come to mind are : 1. What are people hearing about Jesus Christ and His kingdom in the church today? 2. Why do people know that Jesus Christ is coming back just as He once came into the world to die for our sins, yet they are not perturbed about their ' _'unreadiness'_  for His return?  At the ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ, two angels appeared to his disciples and said to them &q

Looking unto Jesus

Text. : Heb. 12:2.  *Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith: who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.*  Today, we shall be taking a critical look at some of the key words from our text :  *LOOKING* This is a continuous tense, which suggests that what we are to do is not a one-off event. *For you to succeed as Christ follower, you must continually fix your gaze on Jesus, Keep looking unto Him.*   *UNTO JESUS*: it is very easy to look at something else other than Jesus. We live in a world full of distractions, where every thing is calling and demanding for your attention. Things like : facebook, whatsapp, movies, parties, religious activities, friends, families, sports, career, business, pleasure, and the list is endless.  I know that quite a number of the things calling for our attention are truly legit, but even amidst it, we are to look unto Jesus. Because He'

REJOICE

Text : Matt. 5:11-12  *How blessed are you whenever people insult you, persecute you, and say all sorts of evil things against you falsely because of me!*   *Rejoice and be extremely glad, because your reward in heaven is great! That’s how they persecuted the prophets who came before you.*  One of the blessedness that Jesus pronounced on the mount while teaching His disciples was for those who are wrongly persecuted.  To be wrongly persecuted is to suffer for an offence you did not commit, for Jesus' sake.  1 Pet 2:20 says What good does it do if, when you sin, you patiently receive punishment for it? But if you suffer for doing good and receive it patiently, you have God’s approval. So you must be able to draw the line from when you are receiving the consequences of your actions and when you are simply being persecuted.  Now Jesus' words to His disciples that are being persecuted is not an advice but a command. He said, "Rejoice and be extremely glad." Obviously,

A CHILD

Text : Pro 22:6.   *Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.*  Note that the Bible did not say "train up your child in the way he should go... " rather,  it says "train up a child in the way he should go... " I checked several versions of the Bible on this verse and realised that none said "your child", because children ultimately belong to God and not the parents,  parents are only care-givers.  Having said that,  let us look closely at what the Lord will have us hear from His word today : 1. *Train* : I know training has different meanings for different individuals. But we'll stay within the confines of what the Bible says regarding training.  Heb 12:11 says No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, for those who have been trained by it, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace. So we can deduce from this verse that training is :  A.  *a discipline*  -a controlle

IN CHRIST

Text : 2Co 5:17.  *Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.*  It is clear from our text that *Two things will happen to anyone who is in Christ. First,  Old things will pass away and all things will become new.*   *You can't wish old things away, and you can't confess new things into existence, these can only happen IN CHRIST.*  Sheer determination and strong self will can't deal with the Old man in you. The old man is not your age mate, he has been around before you came on the scene, so you can't win him with your senses. You can only overcome the old man and his properties through Christ.  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.Rom 6:6.  *If your old man is not crucified with Christ, your body will continue to run errands for sin.*  Having given your life to Christ,  you must know that your old

TEXT: Genesis 15:1  *After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.*  After God told Abram not to fear in verse 1 of Genesis chapter 15, the preceding two verses 2 spelt out what Abram's fear was bothered on:  _... “O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth. You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir.”_ Gen.15:2-3 This fear was immediately dispelled by Faith in God's promise in verse 5,  _Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”_ Gen. 15:5 Abram simply believed in God that his descendants would be as uncountable as stars in the sky. A man without a single child now believed that his children wil

OUR INHERITANCE(1)

TEXT:Genesis 15:1  *....Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.*   *Knowing your final destination is more important than just embarking on a journey.*   *A Pilgrim without a map and a compass may easily settle anywhere and calls it his final destination.*  At the beginning, God told Abram to leave his country, kindred, and his father's house, and get into unto a land that the Lord will show him; It is possible Abraham would have been thinking of himself as a king with a domain(Genesis 12:1). Little did he know that God was calling him not to inherit physical land only but God Himself. In Gen 15, God began to introduce Himself as the inheritance of Abram. God told Abram in a vision:  *"...Fear not, Abram: I am your shield, and your exceeding great reward"*  This statement was issued to Abram after he just conquered mighty kings just for the sake of one man (his cousin)- Lot.  After Abram conquered many mighty kings, he himself has been slain by

INSTRUCTION

Text : Pro 4:13.  *Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.*   *There are duties that are basically your call, no matter how long you pray, God will not do for you what He has instructed you to do.*  Our text says, : 1. *Take fast hold of instruction* : It's clear that the onus is on you to 'take'. To take is to get something into one's hands, or take possession or control of something. Now, the 'something' here is INSTRUCTION. There are some instructions that has been issued expressly to you by God, how well are you holding to them? TAKE FAST HOLD OF INSTRUCTION.  2. *LET HER NOT GO :* There's a tendency for her to go. There's a tendency for you to forget the lessons you once cherished. *Don't ever disdain the principles you once held valuable simply because you've gained some level of comfort.*  3. *KEEP HER :* David said 'Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.' INSTRUCTION

Text : Pro 23:12   *Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.*   *The irony of life is, your disobedience to God's instructions is tantamount to obedience to the devil.*  Recently, God taught me a lesson through my faulty phone. The phone was tagged as faulty because it stopped receiving instructions from me, the owner. On its own, it will dial numbers, write messages and at times call people without my consent.  At other times, when the phone is required to perform some tasks, it will just refuse to comply.  Correct phone receives instructions from the owners and carry out same accordingly. The moment the phone develops a 'brain' of its own, so it can do stuffs without being instructed, such phone has overstayed it usefulness, and already heading towards the trash bin.  While expressing my Displeasure over the dysfunctionality of the phone to my spouse, then I heard the Lord saying to me silently that, "that's the same way I
