Beware of Delilah's 2

Text* ; Judges 16:6

*_So Delilah asked  Samson, please tell me the secret to your great strength and how you may be tied up and tortured. ( ISV)._*

Yesterday, we established what Delilah stands for, today, we shall be looking at her operations and the way out.

 *HOW DELILAH OPERATES*

From our text, it was clear what Delilah's missions are:

1. They go after the source of one's power and inspiration with the sole aim of destroying it. Judges 16:6

2. They are persistently consistent in demanding for the source of your power and strength- your commitment and love for God, your prayer time, your study time, your fellowship time, your morals, your values, your virtues etc, Judged 16:10, 13, 15.

3. They are sentimental (appealing only to your emotions) and soft (having no core values) and most times,  they are fun to be with. Judges 17:19

4. They stay very close to you until their missions are accomplished. Judges 16:20-21.

5. They show no mercy.

     *HOW TO ESCAPE*

1. Enter not into her path. Prov.7:25. The whole of proverbs chapter seven is a warning against straying into the path of an adulterous woman.

The 'red signal' is always there to ward off anyone who is not willing to perish.

Prevention is always better than cure, and to obey is better than sacrifice. The best way to escape Delilah, is  to avoid her path.

*Avoid people who mock your love for God,  your vision, and  your core values. Avoid time wasters, they are destiny destroyers.*

** *Always remember that whoever is not adding to you is taking from you, there is no middle ground.*

2. Deliver yourself. Prov. 6:1-5.

Peradventure you have already entered into Delilah's path, know that her path is as good as a trap.

You can glean a wisdom from what Solomon said in proverbs chapter 6.

First, confront yourself with the bitter truth that you have pitched your tent with the wrong fellow(s), second, confront the "Delilah'  and make your intentions clear- " I am no longer interested in whatever it is we shared together ".

Be resolute in your decision and seek help where appropriate.

*Don't be deceived evil communication corrupts good manners. 1Cor. 15:33.*

Men(humans) are lured into temptation merely because of their lust.BE GUIDED!

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1.  I receive the Grace  to turn my back against every negative influence in my life.

 *Bible reading:* Proverbs 7:6-27, Psalm 1: 1-6

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
