OVERCOMING CHALLENGES(2)

Text: 1 Samuel  30:6

*And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.*

*In all of your challenges,  you are always presented with two options- overcome or be overcome by it*

Today we shall be looking at how David handled and overcame his own challenging moments.

David returned home from following Achish (one of the Philistines Lords ) to war against Israel.  When he got back home (Ziklag), on the third day, he realised that the Amalekites had invaded his camp.  As a result, David and his men had the following challenges to either cope with or solve:

1.  They had taken the women in  ZiKlag captive, from young to old.

2. The town had been burnt down.

3 . Their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captives.

4.  David was in great danger because all the people were bittered because of their sons and daughters, and they were talking about stoning him.1Sam 30:1-3.

It was such a distressing moment in David's and his men's lives. Their families had been taken captives and their homes had been burnt up.

Just like most humans wiIl react to unpleasant situations, David and his men lifted their voices and wept bitterly until they had no more power to weep.

*Weeping often comes as  a reaction to unpleasant circumstances, it however does not profer solution except your faith in God is released* .

After David had wept, the Bible recorded that he did just one thing.  He encouraged himself in the Lord his God.  That is one of  the  surest means by which you can always receive God's intervention over any challenge or crisis in your life.

This is not a mere enciuragement from people or even yourself.  It is an encouragement in the Lord.

We shall be looking at how you can go about personal encouragement in the Lord tomorrow, by His Grace.

Be Encouraged!

_He will come and save you._

_Say to your weary heart,  your Lord will surely come_

_He will come and save you._

*There is no negative or traumatic circumstance in your life that is irreversible. All things are possible*
