FERTILE GROUND

Text : Luke 6:38.

*Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.*

Any farmer who knows his onions knows that  fertile ground is one  factor to be considered if bountuful harvest is his goal. The same principle applies in giving. Whenever you give,  you will surely have it back in multiple folds, provided you give into a fertile ground.

Below are examples of some of the fertile grounds we are enjoined to give into:

1. *The Poor :* Giving to the poor is synonymous to lending God money, Can you imagine what that means?

Whoever is kind to the poor is lending to the LORD—   the benefit of his gift will return to him in abundance.Pro 19:17.

Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell what you own and give the money to the destitute, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come back and follow me.”Mat 19:21.

So it is clear that  *Giving to the poor is a two-way blessings, you will be repaid here and you will store up treasures for yourself in heaven*

2. *The Strangers,  the fatherless and the widow :* God expressly promised to bless the work of your hands when you position yourself to be a blessing to these set of people.  Deut. 14:29. 24:20, 16:11-12.

If you have ever been a stranger in another's country, you will understand what God meant when He said strangers should be treated well.

*Abraham was able to activate God's promise on His life by welcoming strangers. Take care of strangers around you, it's the Lord's command.*

God is the father to the fatherless,  giving to the fatherless is giving to God's children directly. And you will answer to God directly if you mistreat them. PS. 68:5.

James 1:27 says "A religion that is pure and stainless according to God the Father is this: to take care of orphans and widows who are suffering, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

3.  *God's servants :* You  can't go wrong when you sow into the lives of those who sow spiritual seed into you. 1 Cor 9:11.

The popular Philippians 4:19, was a blessing pronounced on those who gave to ministers' need.

*"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil.  4:19"*

Elders who handle their duties well should be considered worthy of double compensation, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.1Ti 5:17.

When you give into the lives of the people listed above, you are sowing your seed into a fertile ground.

*Unless a good seed is sown into a good ground,   good harvest may not be achieved.*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Lord help me to always give according to your will.

 *Bible Reading :* Deut.  24:16-22.:

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
