GOD'S DELIGHT

Text : Jeremiah 9:24 

 *But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.* 

Many things delights your soul which does not necessarily delights the Father's heart. But  *Until God's delight becomes your pursuit and your delight, you will never find REST for your soul.* 

Before I Look into the things that bring delight to God, let's quickly mention those things that men delight in. Note that whatever you delight in is what you glory in and when you glory in anything other than God, that thing may be occupying a rivalry position in your life with God. Sooner or later such may become a god. Apostle Paul made up his mind not to glory in anything else other than the cross.   

 _But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.Galatians  6:14_ 

How about you, what are you glorying in?

Check your heart, are you taking delight and glorying in any of these?:

1. Wisdom

2. Strength or might.

3. Riches.

It will surprise you to know that every single man on  earth glories in one thing or the other. Even a poor man, can glory in His poverty. 

The Lord however instructed that man should not glory in any of the above.

 _Jeremiah 9:23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches_ 

 *God is seeking for men whose glory and delight will be nothing but the CROSS; the CROSS of Christ alone.*   Such people no longer take pride in who they are(personality) and what they have(possessions).

 *Don't be tempted to glory in WHO YOU ARE(PERSONALITY) OR WHAT YOU HAVE(POSSESSIONS) but only in Christ JESUS.* 

 *PRAYER FOCUS* 

1. Lord, help my heart to always glory only in you and you only.

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). HIS VOICE- 2

Text : John 10:3. To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. We established yesterday that one thing you can't joke with as a true follower of Christ is *His Voice.* You must recognise and hearken to (obey) His voice. It is in doing this that your safety is assured.  Today, we want to see another responsibility of the Shepherd over His sheep.  To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, *and leads them out.* John 10:3.  He called you, that He might lead you.
