OUR INHERITANCE (2)

TEXT: Genesis 15:1

*After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.*

After God told Abram not to fear in verse 1 of Genesis chapter 15, the preceding two verses 2 spelt out what Abram's fear was bothered on:

_... “O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth. You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir.”_ Gen.15:2-3

This fear was immediately dispelled by Faith in God's promise in verse 5,  _Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”_ Gen. 15:5

Abram simply believed in God that his descendants would be as uncountable as stars in the sky. A man without a single child now believed that his children will become uncountable.  *When you are in a fix, simply get hold of your Map and Compass (the word), for that is the only thing that guarantees beautiful end and future.*

Fast forward to several years later, when Abraham had brought forth the promised child. Suddenly, God appeared again to Abraham asking that the promised child be sacrificed. _“Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”_ Gen.22:2

Though this was a test, but Abraham had actually killed his beloved son in his heart even before he got to the mount of Moriah.

During the three days journey to Moriah, God had successfully blew up all of Abraham's hope and future in Isaac. Abraham couldn't see the future of having descendants as uncountable as the stars in the sky anymore through Isaac. At this time, all he could see is God. God has become his Hope, his Future and his All.

*Until God becomes your FUTURE and Jesus your HOPE, you will end up in false destination.*

When  God saw the willigness and obedience of Abraham, God sworn by Himself and promised him that _in his seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed..._

Gen. 22:18.The seed herein referred is no longer Isaac but Jesus Christ. Abraham inherited the seed of God (Jesus Christ) as his son. He gave Isaac and got the promise of Jesus Christ as a seed. Hence, All that comes to Christ are now part of the numberless seed God showed to  Abraham in Gen.15. _And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise._ Galatians 3:29

Folks, same God of Abraham is still the same today. If Abraham can inherit God, so you can.

As you wait on God, you must know for sure that He never fails. He will surely come through for you.

     *PRAYER FOCUS*

1.  Lord give me the Grace for continuous obedience to your voice.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
