GOD'S DELIGHT* (2)

Text : Jeremiah 9:24

*But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.*

We saw yesterday that certain things that man glory himself in are not the things that God takes delight in. Rather, God wants man to glory in:

*1. Understanding* : Personal understanding of who God is brings Him delight. *God is delighted and you are enlightened when you continually  receive the revelation of  Jesus Christ.* That is the reason Paul prayed for the Ephesian Church,   _that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him...._

Seeking to understand God can only be achieved through personal and dilligent walk with the Lord.

Prior to receiving understanding of God,you must first of all seek to walk in Faith and Love. Paul began to ask God to give the Ephesian Church the spirit of understanding and  wisdom after he heard of their Faith and Love.  Ephesians 1:15-17.

*2. Knowledge* knowing God as the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, brings delight to His heart. (Jeremiah 9:24) *Seeking the knowledge of God superceeds any other knowledge one might desire or seek after in this world.* The knowledge of God is the highest form knowledge any one can seek.

Paul prayed that he may know Jesus, the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings.... Phil 2:10.

*To know God, you must first know the Son, and to know the Son, you must embrace the TRUTH.* Mathew 11:27

*God delights in anyone who seeks His knowledge because knowing God is life eternal.*

_And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent._

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father fill me with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of your Son.

 *Bible Reading* :Luke 12:16-20

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
