He delivered them from Egypt, opened the Red Sea before them, provided food from heaven, gave them water from the rock, and guided them through the wilderness.  Yet, despite all these wonderful acts of God, they repeatedly complained and murmured against Him. Whenever the children of Israel murmured, it was recorded that their murmuring was ultimately against God. In Numbers 14:27, God said:  *“How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? His Voice Devotional Text: Gen. 39:12   ...she caught him by his garment, saying, "Lie with me." But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.*  Genesis chapter 39 mentioned Joseph's 'garment' five (5) times. In the same frequency, Genesis chapter 37 mentioned Joseph's 'coat' five(5) times. There must be something peculiar about Joseph's coat and his garment that the scripture had to mention them five (5) times each. Joseph was stripped off of his coat of many colours and his garment. In the case of the coat, it was forcefully taken off from him. (Gen. 37:23); but he left the  garment in the hands of Potiphar's wife willingly. (Gen. 39:12). Putting the two scriptures above side by side, it will read thus:  _"....they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him....he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside. God speaks to us in many ways. He speaks through His Word, the Holy Spirit, through wise counsel from parents, pastors, friends, and at times, through  difficult circumstances.  At times, He speaks to correct us. His correction is an expression of His love. His correction is meant to guide us away from danger and into His purpose. Proverbs 29:1 warns against repeatedly rejecting corrections. A person who continually refuses to listen becomes spiritually hardened. Over time, that stubbornness can lead to consequences that arrive suddenly and may be difficult to reverse.  God is patient, but His warnings are not meant to be ignored indefinitely. TEXT:1 Corinthians 15:19  *“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”*  Many people follow God only because of what they can gain on earth, -money, fame, protection, success, or connections, children, husband, wife etc. But Christianity is much deeper than earthly benefits.   *Our ultimate hope as a Christian is eternal life through Jesus Christ.*  The apostle Paul  reminds believers that if our hope in Christ ends with this present world alone, then we are the most miserable people on earth. Why? Because following Christ sometimes requires sacrifice, endurance, discipline, and persecution. Without the hope of eternity, such sacrifices would seem meaningless. As believers, our eyes must remain fixed on eternity. Earthly achievements are temporary, but the kingdom of God is everlasting. Still on the event that took place at the wedding in Cana of Galilee,   Mary had told the servants (the service boys) at the wedding to do whatsoever Jesus would say unto them. After Mary had told the servants to wait on Jesus' instructions, she must have left the scene, knowing fully well that the servants would carry out the instruction to the letter. The servants became waiters, as they waited on Jesus for the very next instruction He would give them. Immediately after Mary left the servants, Jesus commanded the servants to fill up the water pots and asked them, "Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast." Behold, the water had turned to wine....

WEDNESDAY, 13th MAY 2026* TEXT: John 2:5   His mother saith unto the servants, "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, went to Him during the wedding ceremony in Cana of Galilee for a request. She told Jesus that the wine had been exhausted. Mary knew the implication of the wine finishing during a wedding, so she decided to save the day.  It appears Jesus did not give Mary a positive response. He said to her, "Woman, what have I to do with thee? My time is not yet come." This was more like receiving a "NO" in prayer, but if you look at Jesus' response critically, you will realize it is rather a timing matter. There is God's timing.
