While Martha was busy serving and attending to many responsibilities, Mary chose to sit at the feet of Jesus, listening attentively to His words.  Jesus Himself described her choice as "that good part" which would not be taken away from her (Luke 10:42). A worshipper is not merely one who sings songs or plays musical instruments in church meetings. A worshipper is one who values the presence of God above every other pursuit. There is another important lesson hidden in this text. The ability to exercise your spiritual authority is not necessarily a proof of a right relationship with God. Among the twelve disciples who received authority to cast out devils and heal the sick was Judas Iscariot. As commanded by the Lord Jesus, Judas Iscariot also went out to preach, cast out devils and heal the sick. He did all these while he was also stealing from the purse. (John 12:6).
