TEXT: Philippians  2:15 

That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world;

It is quite clear that the children of this world aren't blameless and harmless. As a child of God, you are however instructed to be blameless and harmless in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation.

The greek word 'amemptos' from which blameless is taken can also mean free from fault or defect, while the Greek word 'akeraios' from which harmless is taken pertains to a mind without a mixture of evil. It is a mind that is simple, innocent and free from guile.

There are many reasons for which you may want to be harmful and blamable in this world, but God wants you to remain blameless and harmless. 

You must not be spotted with the defect, guile and evil, prevalent in this world though you are living in a crooked world. 

When Nathanael was brought to Jesus, He declared him as an Israelite indeed in whom there is no guile. (John 1:47). This means that he has no defect or mixture of evil within him. This is the kind of believer the LORD would have us become. A believer that is not mixed with impurity of evil. 

As a believer you must be quick to let go of evil, and offences before it leads to bitterness. You must be willing and ready to unwrap yourself from any form of evil. *Do not  pay evil for evil, because it only takes a person with evil in him to render evil for evil.* (1Peter 3:9).

 *Don't allow evil in our world to turn you into evil person yourself.* Don't be mixed with the impurity in our world, make up your mind to stay pure.

No matter how difficult the situation may appear, you must make up your mind to stay pure and free from all defects and guile.

WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil. Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness.
