Text: Matthew 10:1.

Then Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority over unclean spirits, so that they could drive them out and heal every disease and every illness.

There is another important lesson hidden in this text. The ability to exercise your spiritual authority is not necessarily a proof of a right relationship with God.

Among the twelve disciples who received authority to cast out devils and heal the sick was Judas Iscariot. As commanded by the Lord Jesus, Judas Iscariot also went out to preach, cast out devils and heal the sick. He did all these while he was also stealing from the purse. (John 12:6).

Like the others, he was sent out, he  preached the kingdom, and he participated in the miraculous works that followed. Yet Judas later betrayed the very Master who gave him the authority.

This serves as a sobering warning. *You must never measure your spiritual standing solely by the gifts you operate in or the results you see in ministry.*

God can use a person as a channel of blessing while that person is drifting away from Him.

Please don't be deceived. That a person is able to cast out demons, heal the sick, or perform miracles does not automatically validate such person's obedience to Christ. It is very possible for a believer to have lost fellowship and touch with Christ and still be in tact with his gifts.

You must therefore constantly examine yourself to be sure that you are not drifting away from the LORD. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:27 that, *"...I keep on disciplining my body, making it serve me so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified."*

The Lord desires not only that we function in power but also that we walk in obedience, holiness, and faithfulness.

The Christian life requires both power and character, authority and obedience, ministry and intimacy.

The goal is not merely to do mighty works for Christ but to remain faithful to Christ to the very end.

Today, examine your life. Are you exercising the authority Christ has given you? Are you actively advancing His kingdom through prayer, faith, and love?

At the same time, are you walking in humble obedience to the LORD and maintaining a close relationship with Him?

The greatest testimony is not merely that demons are subject to us, but that our lives remain surrendered to the Lord who gave us authority.

Hear the conclusion of this matter from the lips of our master Himself.....
"Look! I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to destroy all the enemy’s power, and nothing will ever hurt you."
"However, stop rejoicing because the spirits are submitting to you. Instead, rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10: 19-20.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
