Text: Matthew 10:1.

Then Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority over unclean spirits, so that they could drive them out and heal every disease and every illness.*

We established yesterday that a disciple of Christ is not merely someone who professes faith in Jesus; a disciple is one who has been called to follow Him, learn from Him, and represent Him on earth.

This passage clearly reminds us that every believer has been given spiritual authority through Christ. The authority of the believer is not based on personal merit, spiritual maturity, or human ability. It is a delegated authority that comes from our relationship with Jesus.

He has equipped His followers to confront the works of darkness and demonstrate the reality of God's kingdom.

However, it is one thing to possess authority, and it's another thing entirely to exercise it. Many believers know about their authority in Christ, yet they rarely use it.

When was the last time you prayed boldly for the sick? When was the last time you confronted demonic oppression in the name of Jesus?

Authority that is never exercised remains ineffective in practical experience.

When Jesus called the disciples to Himself and gave them the authority, they actually used it.

Explicitly in Matthew 10:8, Jesus Christ said, *Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons.   You have received without payment,  so give without payment.*

In Mark 6:12, they already took action, "So they went and preached that people should repent. They also kept driving out many demons and anointing with oil many who were sick, and healing them.(Mark 6:13).

The authority Jesus gave you is not to be pocketed. If indeed Jesus has called you to Himself, if indeed you have followed and obeyed Him, then, use the authority He has given you.

*Cast out unclean spirits, and heal the sick. However, remember, freely you have been given, freely give.* Don't merchandise the gifts of God.

Matthew 10:1-8.

 *_PRAYER FOCUS_*

Father LORD,  thank You for calling me to be Your disciple. Help me to walk closely with You and to understand the authority You have given me. Grant me faith to stand against the works of darkness and compassion to minister Your healing to those around me in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
