NEW YEAR RESOLVE 2

Text : Psalms 147:11  *The LORD takes pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.*  Yesterday, we saw one important resolution we should make towards the new year. The resolve not to take pleasure in the strength of a horse or in your legs. This should be your resolve as the Lord does not take pleasure in your dependence on your own strength and effort.  Today, we shall be looking at another resolve you should make towards the new year. *If your resolve is centred on God's pleasure, then God's pleasure will be centred on you as well.*  If you would want God to take pleasure in you in a special way in the year 2022, you must make up your mind to Fear Him and to walk in His FEAR. For God takes pleasure in them that fear Him. To fear the Lord is to *"....love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind" Matthew 22:37*   *Only those who fear the Lord can truly experience a deep love affairs with Him.* It is go

NEW YEAR RESOLVE

Text : Psalms 147:10  *He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.*  As the year comes to an end, many people and organisations all over the world are excited about the unfolding opportunities of the year ahead.  Many have made several plans and strategies towards the year ahead. There is so much excitement in the air. Lots of resolves are being made to attain a better life, achieve new goals and accomplish giant strides.  While all these and whatever efforts that are being made towards the new year are good and okay, there's one thing we must keep at the back of our minds - God takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. Legs of a man herein refer to man's efforts outside of God. If all your plans for the new year is drawn without God at the center, you may be taking pleasure in the strength of the horse and in your Legs. The best preparation you need to make for the year 2022 is simply setting your heart aright with God. You must p

BEHIND THE SCENES 2

Text : Genesis 3:1  *Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?*  The spiritual rules the physical. No doubt,  this world is a battle field, and everything that happens here are being orchested from the spirit realm. It's important you recognise this, and live in its consciousness *That you are ignorant of the fact that you are in a war doesn't make it less of a war, it only makes you an easy prey.*  1 Timothy  6:12 says ```Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.``` That is, even after you have come to faith, you are still in a fight.  When you are oblivious of your opponent in a fighting arena, you have placed yourself  at a disadvantaged position. That is why 2 Corinthians 2:11 says we should not be ignorant of the devices of the d

PRAISE HIM

TEXT. Psalms  150:6    *Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.* It is easier for man to praise God when things are good, but praises unto God should only be conditioned upon one thing - " *BREATH* " Do you have breath? If yes, then you must Praise Him at all times.   Praising God is not primarily because He has given you something, but because He has created and given you BREATH. _For His exceeding greatness and mighty works.Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for he issued his command, and they came into being (Psalm 148:5)._  The angels, on a continual basis *PRAISE God* because they behold His Glory,   His Mighty acts and excellent greatness; The Sun, moon and twinkling stars in the  heavens *PRAISE Him;*  The skies and vapors high above the clouds *PRAISE Him;*  The creatures of the ocean depths *PRAISE Him;*  The fire, hail, snow and clouds, wind and weather *PRAISE Him;*  The mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars

WONDERFUL COUNSELOR

Text : Isaiah 9:6   *For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.*  Everyone needs a counsellor. Proverbs 11:14  says *Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.*  That is, without counsel, failure is imminent. If counsel is this important,  wisdom demands that you seek for it. However, not all counsellors can be relied on. There are good and bad counsels. Rehoboam, the king that reigned in Isreal after King Solomon,  lost more than two third of his kingdom forever because he listened to a wrong counsel.  1 kings 12:8-17. Now, there's only one counsellor that can never go wrong. His name is Jesus Christ. He is called Wonderful Counselor. _The Net version of the Bible referred to Him as the *Extraordinary Strategist.*_ He has never failed and He will never fail.  ```For a child has bee

WORSHIP THE KING

Text :Matthew 2:2  *...Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and have come to worship him* . The King of the Jews was born but the Jews knew nothing about it. They were ignorant of the arrival of their King. The Jews knew that Saviour was coming, but they were not prepared to receive the humble arrival of their King. Hence  they could not worship Him. It is however intriguing to know that only wise men from the east could see Jesus. They saw His STAR and they searched for him just for one reason- *To worship Him.* You can imagine, these men came to worship "Baby Jesus" as the King. If these men searched for Jesus when He has not been affirmed by God as His Son, when he has not wrought any miracle, when he  has not died and risen; then better worship is required of us today. We must give Jesus an  extravagant worship like the woman with the alabaster box. We must come to Jesus with our very life and expend it on Him. (Math. 26:7) *Wo

DESIRE 2

Text :Proverbs 13:4  *The soul of a lazy [man] desires, and [has] nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.* We established yesterday that the reason for which desire kills is because of lazyness.(Proverbs 21:25).   It is not God's plan that man's desire should kill him, but for lack of diligence, unfulfilled desire can kill.  To achieve your desires in year 2022, you must:  *1. Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.* Your thoughts contain the desires of your heart. So, only good and godly thoughts can be established by the Lord. And only works committed to the Lord, can be established as well. This verse talks about your total dependence on the Lord.  *2. Be dilligent:*  From the dictionary, diligence is described as a combination of carefulness, long-term effort and working hard.  Our text clearly states that the soul of the dilligent shall be made rich. Hence, you can as well say that the desire of the dilligent shall be fullfil

GRATITUDE

Text : Luke 17:18.  *Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?”* ESV When you are grateful to God for what He has done,  He will do more. When Jesus healed the ten lepers, He was actually expecting them to show gratitude.  He asked " ```Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, except this stranger."``` Luke 17:17-18. When you are grateful to God and even to man, you are only opening more doors of favour to yourself. The only person that received wholeness in his body of the ten lepers was the only one who returned to give Glory to God. Luke 17:19. Now, if you asked the other nine lepers why they didn't return to appreciate Jesus. They will tell you that they were actually on their way to show themselves to the priests as instructed by Jesus. _And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleans

YOUR WORDS 2

Text : Mathew. 12:37. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”  *If His words become your word, then your world will take a meaningful shape.*  Psalms 119:105 says Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my pathway. *Without His word, you will lack direction in life and without His word, you will lack vision to navigate through life.*  David showed us how this word could be applied, he said ```In my heart I have hidden your word, that I might not sin against you``` . This goes to show that whoever  refuses to hide (keep) God's word in his heart will keep sinning against God. As a matter of fact, your real self is revealed by your heart. That is why proverbs 23:7 says _as a man thinks in his heart, so is he_ .  Also, Proverbs  4:23 says _Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life._  Your words can only be seasoned with salt and grace when your heart is right with God. Let your speech always be gracious, seas

YOUR WORDS

Text : Mathew 12:37.  *For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”*   *Words are powerful, but not many are living in the consciousness of its power.*   Every war starts with words. Proverbs 15:1. Even the heaven and the earth were created by words.  Pro 18:21 says Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.  Expressly,  our text says your words (not God's) will be the reason you are either justified or condemned. Invariably, your fate is in your hands. When Jesus was crucified, two thieves were equally nailed alongside our Lord. One on His right the other on the left.  They were both sentenced to death for the crimes they had committed, but by reason of their words, one was eternally condemned while the other received eternal pardon. Luke 23:43. The question is,  what will it cost the other thief to simply say something good so he can be pardoned too? Or let's assume he made a mistake

DISTRIBUTE AND COMMUNICATE

Text : 1 Timothy  6:18    *That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;*  Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, giving him instruction for the rich. The word rich and poor can sometimes be a relative terms. If you can afford a very good school for your children in your neighborhood, clothe your children nicely, pay your bills, live in a three bedroom apartment, with a car, and you can afford three square meal in a day. By this description, your "gateman"  will call you a rich man. To him, you are a rich man. Meanwhile, you are just a junior officer working with a multinational company.  What would your employer call you then? I am not sure your employer would refer to you as a rich man. This goes to say that being poor is a relative term.  So, when God's word says charge them that are rich in this world to be rich in good works, ready to distribute and willing to communicate. Do not be tempted to think outside of yourself. You

NO REPUTATION

Text : Philippians 2: 7  *But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:*  Jesus, undoubtedly is our perfect example. For us to be like Him, we have to follow in His steps. 1 Peter  2:21 says, ```for even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:```  A number of times,  it is easier to claim what is good and easy, but what Jesus offers is a complete package, both suffering and glory. But you must always remember that   the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.Rom 8:18. Hence, today, we shall look at one of the attributes of Christ Jesus with the aim of doing likewise.  1. *No reputation* One of the things that man finds difficult to let go is reputation. Even people with foul reputations hold on to their vain reputation as though their lives depended on it. *One of the things t

FLEE

Text : 2 Timothy  2:22   _*Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart*_ . Biblically, the word "flee" means to seek safety by flight, to shun or avoid by flight something abhorrent, especially vices. We have a number of things God warned us to flee from. Until you flee from these things and submit yourself to God, the devil himself cannot flee from you. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James  4:7). God warned that we FLEE:  *_1. Fornication_ :*  Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.(1 Corinthians  6:18)    *_2. Idolatry_ :* Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.(1 Corinthians  10:14). Idolatry goes beyond worshipping an idol. If you love or revere anything or anyone above God, you are into idolatry. Hence, you must constantly and critically examine yourself to

CONFORMITY

Text : Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate _to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren._ Many are merely existing only few are truly living. That a person is breathing, walking up and down and doing other human responsibilities does not necessarily mean that such is a Living Soul.  The first man (Adam)  that God created in the garden of Eden was a living soul until he fell  into disobedience and died.  This singular acts of Adam and Eve is the reason many people  aren't living today. As far as God is concerned, to live is to be quickened from the life of sin. Eph. 2:1.  *Sin is not just what you commit, it is what you inherited from Adam, and passed down to you through many generations.* It is a programme written by the devil that only Jesus' blood can decode and destroy. Praise God, Jesus has already destroyed the power of Sin. 1Cor. 15:56-57, 1John 3:8)  It takes proper and thorough washing in the blo

COMPLAINTS

Text : Number 11:5  We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: We concluded yesterday that whatever memory that makes you to complain is ungodly and should never be entertained.  Today, we will take it a little farther. God hates complaints and murmuring. Imagine,  He said He  will judge evil doers and He mentioned complainers among the list of these evil doers.  He will judge all people and convict everyone of all the ungodly things that they have done in such an ungodly way, including all the harsh things that these ungodly sinners have said about him.” These people are complainers and faultfinders, following their own desires. They say arrogant things and flatter people in order to take advantage of them.Jude 1:15 &16 ISV It may be easy for you to judge the Isrealites for complaining over such mundane things like cucumber and garlic. But if you reflect well, you will see yourself doing th

MEMORIES

Text : Num 11:5  We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: We all have memories, some are good and some are not, but don't let your past debar you entry to your future. Memory  is the  ability to record information about things or events with the facility of recalling them later at will.  Anyone with good memories will do well in examinations. This goes to show that memories can be good. However, memory is one of the things the devil uses in taking man away from the agenda of God. God in His sovereignty chose to deliver the Isrealites from years of slavery in Egypt. Their slavery was such that they were not just manhandled, but they were being killed.  Pharaoh, the then reigning King in Egypt gave an order for all the male-child of Isreal to be killed at birth, just to control the Israelis population and prosperity. Exodus 1:8-22. God delivered the Isrealites nonetheless amidst stiff cruelt

TRUST 2

Text :Job  13:15.  *Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.*  Today  we shall be looking at Job's resolution in the face of his predicament. Job made up his mind to do two things even if God slay(kill) him: 1. He will yet trust in Him. 2. He will yet  maintain his own ways before the Lord. By this two profound statements, Job demonstrated his highest level of trust and commitment towards God. He also resolved never to be offended with God, but to maintain his own ways before the Lord.  *When you find yourself in a predicaments, all you need do is trust in the Lord, rather than being offended with people around you or with God.*  Though the main problem (trial) of Job was initiated by the devil, yet he did not arrogate his predicament to anyone. Job knew too well that nothing happens without God's consent. In the same vein, the best way to deal with all oppositions, predicaments, challenges and temptation is to know that nothing

TRUST

Text :Job  13:15    *Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.*  While Faith and Trust could mean the same in certain scenario, there is still a thin line of difference between the two words. *When Faith says, "I believe my God will do it", Trust simply says "come what may, I rest and believe in God's unchanging Nature"*  Trust in God, does not only believe in God's abilities and powers, but it does believe in God's sovereignty and Faithfulness. So, because you trust God, you will always rest in His unchanging  faithfulness and love towards you. An ancient servant of God by the name Job was in a very difficult situation to the point that his wife asked him to curse God and die. (Job 2:9). Job so much trusted in God that he believed that if he has collected good from God, he must also collect evil from him. Though, this understanding may be short of who God is, yet Job decided to defend God even in the face

WATCH

Text : Mark 13:37    *And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.*  A common saying has it that "To be forewarned is to be forearmed" Jesus gave a very remarkable warning to all his followers that I wish to bring to your remembrance today. Jesus gave an outstanding and resounding instruction at the end of  His discourse on Mount Olive. He said, What I say to *you* , I say unto *you all* " Mark 13:37. The first *YOU"* in this verse talks about the disciples present with Him at that time, the " *YOU ALL* " is pointing to you and I living today.  This statement is crystal clear, hence, no one can give excuse. He warned that you should watch because you do not know when the master of the house will come, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning. Mark 13:35. Sometimes, we often forget ourselves in this world as though this is our final stop in the Journey of life. Jesus is saying to you afresh today to Watch!  To watch means that you

THE ENCOUNTER 2

Text : John  12:9    *Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.*  After Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead, it was recorded that much people (of the Jews) came to Jesus. John 12:9. *The miracles of God in your life should bring more people to Christ, that is how God can be glorified.*  However, these people didn't come to Jesus for Jesus' sake only, they came to see Lazarus also.  *A true encounter with Christ will draw people's attention to you, ensure you point them to the Giver and not just the gift.*  After Lazarus had been raised from the dead, you will think everyone will be happy for him. But no, new Victory opens you up to new enemies. As a matter of fact, the seed of God's word in you will open you up for testing, this testing will either lead you to promotion or demotion in the Spirit.  Jesus said in Math. 13:21 that trouble o

THE ENCOUNTER

Text : John 12:9   Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.  The story of Lazarus whom Jesus raised from the dead is a very popular one. Apparently,  Lazarus had died and had been buried for four days before Jesus got to the scene. John 11:39. Prior to this time, Jesus had told His disciples that “This illness isn’t meant to end in death. It’s for God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” John 11:4. Your present predicament isn't meant for your downfall,  it will eventually work together for your good.  Just hold on to God. Rom.8:28.  Eventually, Lazarus died. And all hopes seem to have been lost. His sisters said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died". Even death cannot stop the miracle of God's wonder in your life, remember death is swallowed up in victory. Long story short. Jesus call

WHOSE IMAGE? 2

Text : Matthew 22:21 *They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.*  Today, we shall be looking at the things that are God's which you must give back to Him. You must know that God is not interested in the things of Caesar. The things of Caesar will perish and fade away with this world. The things of God are those things that transcends this age. They are eternal. Every man on earth has the things of God in him. God has created every man in His image and likeness. Gen. 1:26. One of His things in man is the soul which was once made a living soul through God's breath of life.  _And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul._ Genesis 2:7. Man lost God's life when he fell in the garden, the living soul died and man  was alienated from God. The soul which was once living c

WHOSE IMAGE?

Text : Matthew 22:21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.  The Pharisees, while trying to trap Jesus in His words, asked him if it is lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not. He asked them to show him the  tribute money(coin). Jesus then asked them concerning the coin given to him, "whose is this image and  superscription?" They replied, Caesar's!  Then he said unto them, render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. There are things that solely belongs to God, and He will never share with any one or anything else. Just as the image on the money reveals its ownership. So also the image you portray shows your ownership. So the question is: whose image are you carrying? You are God's image,  hence you must render yourself to the Lord. God is not interested in anything else except on

REVIVAL 2

Text : Hosea 6:2   *After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.*   *True revival is hinged on three major factors: Humility, Prayer, Repentance .*  2 Chronicles 7:14 clearly states that "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"  *Revival comes when all that we  seek and look for is God, and God alone.* Consistent and continuous seeking of God under meaningful conviction and confession of sins(repentance), always rend the heaven open over. Isaiah 64:1.  Today, the church seeks more of things from God than God Himself. If only you can collate and compile all prayer points offered in our various churches in the year 2021, you will be surprised at the content of prayers we offered to God. The list will be filled with: God give me promotion;God give me

REVIVAL

Text : Hosea 6:2  *After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.*  Though many revival services are being held on weekly basis within and outside our church buildings today, but we are yet to experience true revival.  We need revival today than any time in history. And this revival has to start with you and I. Yes, with you!  Revival simply means the restoration of God's tangible and manifest presence. Revival is not just a three day crusade meeting. It is the restoration of God's activities amongst His people. One factor that is constant in the history of revival is that, no one can deny that God's Spirit is at work.  Revival can be personal. You can experience God's revival in your life. So many Christians had branched off from the track a long time. They go to church, participate in activities but they are long dead and decaying. No more life. No more fire on their altar, only ashes. No more chastening of the
