REVIVAL

Text : Hosea 6:2  *After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.*

Though many revival services are being held on weekly basis within and outside our church buildings today, but we are yet to experience true revival.

We need revival today than any time in history. And this revival has to start with you and I. Yes, with you!

Revival simply means the restoration of God's tangible and manifest presence. Revival is not just a three day crusade meeting. It is the restoration of God's activities amongst His people.

One factor that is constant in the history of revival is that, no one can deny that God's Spirit is at work.

Revival can be personal. You can experience God's revival in your life. So many Christians had branched off from the track a long time. They go to church, participate in activities but they are long dead and decaying. No more life. No more fire on their altar, only ashes. No more chastening of the Spirit. No more word from the Lord. No more comfort of the Spirit. Everything is just dry. You no longer experience the joy of salvation.

If this is your situation, you need revival from the Lord.(Psalm 85:6). You need to cry out to the Lord for fresh and holy fire upon your Life.

As a church, we can also experience revival. There are so many mechanical works in the church of Christ today. When the Spirit of God departs from a congregation, such has become like a car without an engine. Hence, you have to push for there to be a movement. *A car without engine can move, but someone had to exert strength to ensure slow but unsustainable movement. Would you rather prefer yourself in a car driven by the Spirit while you are seated by His side, or stand behind the car, doing the push?

In the same vein, when there is need for revival in the church, there will be exertion of so much strength and energy but with little or no movement.

*Until an individual or a congregation becomes intentional and passionate about their need for revival, nothing happens, they keep doing business as usual.*

Are you somewhat tired of business as usual?, Are you tired of contributing or exerting more strength than the Spirit's supplies. Are you burdened and worn out? Then It is time to cry out to God for revival.

In revival, we experience divine participation and divine help. Revival makes the presence of God's Spirit more vivid and experiential.

May the Lord revive us again in Jesus name.

Bible Reading : Ezekiel 37:3-14

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Ask the Lord to create a strong desire for revival in you; both for your personal life and your congregation.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
