NO REPUTATION

Text : Philippians 2: 7

*But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:*

Jesus, undoubtedly is our perfect example. For us to be like Him, we have to follow in His steps. 1 Peter  2:21 says, ```for even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:```

A number of times,  it is easier to claim what is good and easy, but what Jesus offers is a complete package, both suffering and glory. But you must always remember that   the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.Rom 8:18.

Hence, today, we shall look at one of the attributes of Christ Jesus with the aim of doing likewise.

1. *No reputation* One of the things that man finds difficult to let go is reputation. Even people with foul reputations hold on to their vain reputation as though their lives depended on it. *One of the things the devil is using in turning men away from Christ is their reputation.*

*A number of people have a bloated reputation of themselves so much so that it blocked them from seeing the Messiah.*

From our text, we saw that Jesus made Himself of no reputation.  Note that nobody deprived Him of it, nor collected it from Him, but He made Himself of no reputation.  Another version says He made Himself much much less important. (The easy English version).

*How important do you feel in your own estimation? it pays to be humble.*  Do not think of your self more than necessary. Remember,  God resist the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.James  4:6.

If Jesus, who is God in the flesh, made Himself of no reputation,  there should be no reputation so high and lofty that you shouldn't drop at  His feet. *When you are able to make yourself of no reputation,  you have positioned yourself for elevation .*

*Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:1 Peter  5:6  .*

Bible Reading  : Philippians 2: 1-11.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Lord, I am sorry in ways I have raised myself  beyond normal, in ways I have walked in pride and foolishness.

2. Give me the grace to be humble.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
