CONFORMITY

Text : Romans 8:29

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate _to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren._

Many are merely existing only few are truly living. That a person is breathing, walking up and down and doing other human responsibilities does not necessarily mean that such is a Living Soul.

The first man (Adam)  that God created in the garden of Eden was a living soul until he fell  into disobedience and died.
This singular acts of Adam and Eve is the reason many people  aren't living today. As far as God is concerned, to live is to be quickened from the life of sin. Eph. 2:1.

*Sin is not just what you commit, it is what you inherited from Adam, and passed down to you through many generations.* It is a programme written by the devil that only Jesus' blood can decode and destroy. Praise God, Jesus has already destroyed the power of Sin. 1Cor. 15:56-57, 1John 3:8)

It takes proper and thorough washing in the blood of Jesus for a man to be truly set free from sin. 1John 1:7.

For anyone to be free from a life of sin and death, such must first of all turn to God by confessing Jesus as the Saviour and Lord. (Rom. 10:9-10). Then, such must always deny self, carry his cross daily  and follow Jesus. This is the only way to LIVE(unto God) as a LIVING SOUL. (Luke 9:23)

*To live is to die, and to die is to live.* Jesus said, "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it" Matthew 16:25.

Jesus Christ saved us on the Cross through His blood, but we must truly *experience* this salvation in our tripartite being: spirit, soul and body.(1Thess. 5:23).

So, you must cooperate with the Lord to ensure that all that He has done in your spirit man also becomes the genuine experience of your Soul and Body.

The simple reason many so called Born again are not in any way different from unbelievers (except in religious activities) is because they are not being transformed in their Soul. They are not Journeying with the Lord on daily basis.
*And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2*

As a genuine christian(born again), if you are sincere with yourself, you will realise that some of your hidden characters are almost the same with that of unbelievers. Unbelievers gossip, backbites, tell lies, keep malice, express wrath and anger, cheat, quarrel. These same are often found in the church(among believers) as well. That is the reason there are too many conflicts and disunity in the church today.

As a child of God, you are on a journey, and the end of that journey is the salvation of your soul, not your spirit only.1 Peter 1:9 says *Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.*

If every single believer makes it a duty to deny self and carry his cross as instructed, disunity, conflict, malice, gossip and other sins would be long gone in the church and by extension, in our community.

Bible Reading : Luke 9:23-25

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Lord, help me to deny self and daily carry my cross and follow you.

2. Lord, help me to keep my focus on Christ's image as my goal in life in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil. You will  notice there is a similar feature of the number *40(forty)* between these two wilderness experiences. That is, that of the Israelites and our Lord Jesus Christ. The Israelites spent 40years, Jesu...
