THE ENCOUNTER

Text : John 12:9

Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

The story of Lazarus whom Jesus raised from the dead is a very popular one. Apparently,  Lazarus had died and had been buried for four days before Jesus got to the scene. John 11:39.

Prior to this time, Jesus had told His disciples that “This illness isn’t meant to end in death. It’s for God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” John 11:4.

Your present predicament isn't meant for your downfall,  it will eventually work together for your good.  Just hold on to God. Rom.8:28.

Eventually, Lazarus died. And all hopes seem to have been lost. His sisters said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died".
Even death cannot stop the miracle of God's wonder in your life, remember death is swallowed up in victory.

Long story short. Jesus called forth Lazarus from the dead. Humanly speaking, this is an impossible feat. Only an encounter with divinity can make the impossible possible.

Just like Lazarus, man has been dead in trespasses and sins. The stench of man's despicable state is so gory that we repulse one another. Only an encounter with Christ can quicken man from death, Ephesians 2:1.

There's nothing as terrible as a living - corpse. Anyone who has not encountered Jesus at second birth is a living corpse.

Today, Jesus is calling out Your name. He is calling you out from the dead. As you are hearing His voice,  do not  harden your heart. Heb. 3:15.

You may be saying that you already have this encounter with Jesus. Well, the onus is on you to carry the Jesus  in you to the sepulchre of others who are merely living corpses, so they can hear His voice and be delivered too.

Bible Reading  : John 12:9-11.

PRAYER FOCUS

1. I receive the grace to hear the voice of Christ and to harken to it Jesus.

2.. Father, I pray for a fresh encounter in you in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
