CROSS OVER

Text : Exodus 14:16. You are to raise your staff, stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it, so the Israelis may go into the middle of the sea on dry land. God lives in timeless zone.He lives outside of time. But He always honors our timing and time zones. By human calendar, today is the last day in this year. Today, by the Grace of God,we will cross over from 2024 to 2025. A number of people that has not been to church this year will definitely show appearance this night for a cross over service. I sincerely pray that they will encounter God. But the focus today is not about those who go to church once a year. The focus is about You. To safely leave Egypt (the land of slavery) the Israelites needed to cross over the red sea. Humanly speaking, crossing the red sea was an impossible task, but this was not their only headache, the Egyptian army were furiously closing in on them at the other end. They were sandwiched between two impossible and unpleasant situations. Beloved, 31st ...

GRATITUDE

Text : Luke 17:18. Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” ESV. When you are grateful to God for what He has done,  He will do more. When Jesus healed the ten lepers, He was actually expecting them to show gratitude.  He asked "Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger." (Luke 17:17-18). When you are grateful to God and even to man, you are only opening more doors of favour to yourself. The only person that received wholeness in his body out of the ten lepers was the only one who returned to give Glory to God. (Luke 17:19). Now, if you asked the other nine lepers why they didn't return to appreciate Jesus. They will tell you that they were actually on their way to show themselves to the priests as instructed by Jesus. "And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were clea...

SPEAK LORD-2

Text : 1 Samuel 3:10 Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuelanswered, "Speak, for Your servant hears." The Lord would have you maintain a calm and restful posture like the boy Samuel. This is to help you hear His voice clearly in this season.  While you may not necessarily have to find yourself in a sleeping or sleepy mode like Samuel, it is important to position yourself to hear what the Lord will  say to you. Samuel heard the voice of the Lord because he maintained a heart position that could hear from the Lord. Samuel heard the Lord in the midst of scarcity of God's words. The scriptures says, "... in those days messages from the Lord were very rare, and visions were quite uncommon." (1Samuel 3:1). It is important to note that *spiritual famine is far more devastating than natural famine.* When God's word is abundantly supplied, then direction becomes clearer. God wants you to receive His word in th...

SPEAK LORD

Texts: 1 Samuel 3:10 Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel answered, "Speak, for Your servant hears. We are most grateful to God for spearing our lives up until this very moment. It is my earnest prayer that you and your household shall gallantly cross into the year 2025 in Jesus name. (Amen) As you are in the mood of praying, planning, and preparing for the incoming year, I will like to bring one major matter before you. It is highly important for you to seclude yourself in a place in order to hear His Voice for the year 2025. You will be surprised at what the Lord can reveal to you within a little time, even as small as 30minutes.  You need to refrain from every jumping up and down, and give out quality time before the Lord. This is not a time to pray or do anything. It's just a time to listen to the Lord.  It is  time to tell everything within and around you to be silent that His Voice alone can be heard. Be silent,...

SO MUCH MORE

Text: Isaiah 9:6. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;   and the government will be upon his shoulder,   and his name is called   Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,   Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace . Two days ago was Christmas day. Yesterday was tagged boxing day and today, you may be tempted to think the celebration is over. No, the King of kings can't be boxed into two days celebration. He is to be celebrated and praised forever. When Herod heard about His birth, he took him for just any child he can kill at his command. No, He is more than a child. He was not just a child, He is a child that carries the government on His shoulder. 'And of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end.' Isaiah 9:7. He is so much more than the new dresses you bought for this festive season. He is so much more than the special delicacies. He is so much more than all the decorations. He is so much more than the beautiful carols...

KING OF KINGS

Text: Matthew 2:2. Where is the one who was born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him. Herod was the sitting king when Jesus was born. Naturally, the birth of another king was a threat to him and his throne. When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, as was all of Jerusalem._ Matthew 2:3. Before you encountered Jesus, there were powers (forces) reigning in your life as king, they know beyond doubt that the presence of Jesus in your life will dethrone them, so they will do everything to make you loose what you have. BEWARE!!! King Herod planned to kill Jesus, but hear what he told the wise men, He told them; “As you go, search carefully for the child. When you find him, tell me so that I, too, may go and worship him.” Matthew 2:8. If the enemy introduced himself to you as enemy and told you he's out to kill you, you'll obviously keep your distance, but the real enemies are those that came as friends. However,  the King of kings cannot be ...

GOOD TIDINGS

Text: Luke 2:10.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Jesus Christ is good TIDINGS personified. The angel said, I bring you good tidings of great joy. And the beautiful part of this message is, this good tidings of great joy is not for the shepherds only but the angel went further to say, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. We bless God for this complete message, otherwise some people may argue that the good tidings is selective.  You and I are included in that  "all people.". This season is a season of glad tidings, put in another way, we say, this season is a season of good news. Though today may not be the actual day that our Lord was born, but it is a day set apart to celebrate His birth.  A number of times, many people tend to forget the essence of the celebration. *JESUS CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON, IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM.* His presence spe...

FEAR NOT

Text :  Luke 2:10.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. The first message the angels heralded about the birth of Jesus Christ was to abate fear in man. The angel said unto them, 'Fear not.' The fall of man has plunged man into series of decadence of which fear is one. Man is plunged with the fear of tomorrow, fear of uncertainty, fear of war, fear of thieves, fear of disease and sickness, fear of scarcity, fear of loneliness, fear of old age, fear of insecurity, fear of death, and the list is endless. All of these fears emanates from the devil. No man is free from all. If you are not plagued with one, you will be plagued with the other. The only way by which man can be truly  free from the spirit of fear is through Jesus Christ. This explains why the first thing God permitted the  angel to say to the wise men is ' *FEAR NOT*. First and foremost, know that the angel only proclaimed t...

THE TWO CRIMINALS

Text: Luke 23:42 Then he went on to plead, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom!” At the crucifixion of Jesus, two criminals were hung alongside with Him in order to fulfill the scripture which says : He was counted among the outlaws. (Isaiah 53:12). This incidence that happened on the cross, is actually pointing to the fact that everyone without Jesus is a criminal  (a sinner).  Since the fall of man,  everyone has sinned and come short of the Glory of God, (Romans 3:23). But up till date, man is still categorised under these criminals.  1. Those yelling insults at Him.  Now one of the criminals hanging there kept insulting him, “You are the Messiah, aren’t you? Save yourself…and us!”.Luke 23:39 ISV.  This criminal knew he had need of salvation yet he chose to make mockery of the only one who can save him.  Whenever the Holy Spirit is convicting your heart of sin, and you refused to call on the saviour for help and cleansing, you are in...

HUNGER

TEXT : Matthew 5:6. How blessed are those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness,   because it is they who will be satisfied! Hunger is a craving or urgent need for food or a specific nutrient. Hunger is a sign of life. A dead person can't feel hungry. When you are hungry, the healthy thing to do is to eat, but I will like to add that; to eat good and balanced diet. This is so true with spiritual things. There's a blessedness attached with being hungry for righteousness. The truth is, if you are not hungry and thirsty for righteousness, you will not get it. Your hunger for righteousness connotes the following: 1.) *It shows you are alive.* One of the symptoms of sickness or disease is loss of appetite. In the same vein, when you are no longer having desires for the things of the Spirit, know that you are spiritually sick and you need spiritual attention. 2.) *It reveals your desire for food.* It's easier to feed a hungry child than a full one. Only the hungry can be sa...

YOUR DELIGHT

TEXT: Psalm 1:2.  But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. I know you are very familiar with Psalms chapter one verse 1 -  *Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked,   nor stand on the path of sinners,  nor sit in the seat of scoffers;* Psalms 1:1. Everyone wants the blessings in this verse. Well, the blessings will flow naturally once the conditions in the verse are fulfilled. As verse one is filled with what the man ought not to do -  **Do not walk in the counsel of the wicked. **Do not stand in the path of the sinners and  **Do not sit in the seat of the scornful. Verse two is filled with what you ought to do: 1.) *Delight in His law.* : To delight is to have great joy and pleasure in something or someone. So to delight in the law of the Lord is to take pleasure in God's instructions.  Anyone who is not delighting in the law of the Lord will not be able to fulfill the conditio...

HONOUR

TEXT: Matthew 10:41  He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. The scripture clearly instructed us in First Peter chapter 2 verse 17 to honour all men. Honour, according to the dictionary simply means  recognition of importance or value; respect; (of someone, usually for being morally upright and/or competent). To honour a person therefore means to recognise such one as very important or valuable. You honour a person because he or she has something of value to offer you. Therefore, for every person that you honour, you receive a commensurate value of inherent importance, reward, blessing, glory and virtue that the person carries. For instance when you honour your parents, you receive long life; Ephesians 6:2-3. When you honour your husband as a wife, you gain good favour and blessings from him and from the Lord. As a husba...

BE SEPERATED-2

TEXT:Proverbs 27:22  You cannot separate fools from their foolishness, even though you grind them like grain with mortar and pestle. God wants us to be freed and separated from all forms of foolishness. Hence, He does not want us to keep going back to our vomits i.e wrongs and sins. Today, we shall be looking at a man whose foolishness remained in him, though, he was grinded like grain with mortar and pestle. His foolishness is so ingrained in him to the point that no amount of grinding could separate him from it. May we not be in such class of men in Jesus name.  To do away with foolishness, you must take heed to instruction and live by it. Once upon a time in Israel, a man by the name Shimei cursed and stoned King David during the time Absalom the kings's Son dethroned him. (2King 16:5-8).Shimei took advantage of David's trying moment. You can imagine a citizen cursing and casting stones at his King, the anointed of the Lord. When David was restored, he did nothing to ...

BE SEPERATED

TEXT:Proverbs 27:22  You cannot separate fools from their foolishness, even though you grind them like grain with mortar and pestle . Though, no one likes to be named or tagged a fool, but when you keep repeating same error or going back to your vomit, you are simply acting foolishly.  To act foolishly once in a while or for the first time, may not necessarily make a person a fool. But when a person continually grows inseparable from his or her folly, then that makes the person a fool. While repentance is  part and parcel of our salvation package, it should also be seen as a daily and regular practices. Hence, when you discover your wrong, sin or mistakes against  others or even yourself, you must be eager to genuinely repent and forsake such sin or wrong. If a person  however, keeps going back to the same sin or wrong, then such one has directly or indirectly becomes a fool. The scripture put it thus:   As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns...

CAPACITY

Text: Gen 41:40. So you are to be appointed in charge over my palace, and all of my people are to do whatever you command them to do. Only the throne will have greater authority than you.” I am sure you are familiar with the story of Joseph, the dreamer. He was so called because he wouldn't be silent about the spectacular dreams God was showing him about himself.  You don't have to be silent about the vision God has revealed to you. Surely, not everyone will agree with you from the beginning. But note that  *you don't need everyone's approval before you obey God.*  The truth is, your  critics today will celebrate your success tommorrow if you used their criticism as a stepping stone and not as stumbling block.*  Habakkuk 2:2 says ```And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.```  So, Joseph announced his dreams and it fetched him enemies.  You may be going through challenging mom...

YOUR BUSINESS.

Genesis 4:9.  *Later, the LORD asked Cain, “Where’s your brother Abel?” “I don’t know,” he answered. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”*  How many times have you heard people say, "It's none of my business?" Or how many times have you said it yourself? Well, a number of things may not be your business, but today, we will be talking about one thing that is your business that you probably have neglected. It is your business to be your brother's keeper. The first man to ever commit murder was Cain. It was Cain who brought the slogan "am I my brother's keeper?" into our world. Since then, people have been operating with this individualistic spirit with one another. It's very convenient for the enemy to catch and conquer anyone who is isolated. And this is the reason the word of God says in Hebrews 10:25 that you should not neglect to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another even more as you see the day of the Lord coming nearer. If t...

WHOLE ARMOUR-2

Text: Ephesians 6:13. For this reason, take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to take a stand whenever evil comes. And when you have done everything you could, you will be able to stand firm. Yes, life is not fair, but God is a just God, He is always faithful. The fall of man had made the world to be a battle ground for mankind. Every man is in a battle. When you are not born again, you are fighting from the defeated camp,  once you become born again you are fighting from the winning side. Note that being a child of God doesn't exempt you from the fight, it only made you to be fighting a defeated foe. Romans 8:37 says, *in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.*  We are only more than conqueror through Christ Jesus. So, if you are not in Christ, you are not a conqueror let alone being more than a conqueror. And if you are in Christ, you are expected to do His dictates. One of His dictates is for you to take up the *whole armour*...

WHOLE ARMOUR

Text: Ephesians 6:13.  For this reason, take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to take a stand whenever evil comes. And when you have done everything you could, you will be able to stand firm. Armour is a  protective layer over a body, or any object intended to deflect or diffuse damaging forces. So, God wants you to stay protected, hence, He admonished us to put on His whole armour. The reason for this whole armour is made abundantly clear. He says, so you may be able to stand whenever evil comes. Let's look at some of the reasons God wants you to put on the whole armour as stipulated in the previous verse to our text.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12). 1.) You are in a battle. The word of God says you are wrestling. To Wrestle is to contend with an opponent. Now, whether you are cognisant o...

TRUST-3

TEXT:Psalm 125:1  They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. Today, we shall be looking at one of the blessings that comes upon those that put their trust in the Lord.  It is the blessing of abiding like mount Zion. Psalms 125:1 says "They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abides for ever."  Just as mount Zion cannot be removed, so also shall those whose trust are in the Lord.   Everything and everyone whose roots are not established in God shall be removed, but those that trust in the Lord shall not be moved. While every other thing or person you may put your trust in are visible, the invisible God is the only whom you cannot see but the only one who is worth your full trust.  You are like what you put your trust in. So, when you put your trust in God who abides forevermore, then you also will abide forevermore. (John 6:47). Isaiah 26:4 affirms this: Tru...

TRUST-2

Text : Jeremiah 17:5 & 7  "....Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD." While there is a ready made curse upon any man who puts his trust in another man and make  flesh his arm, there is also a great blessing upon every one who trusts in the Lord. It is important to note that the reason a man is not trusting the Lord is because his heart has departed from the Lord. *To know where your trust is, you must check where your heart is.*  There are two types of trust. The first one is strictly for God, and that's the one we are looking at today. This is "Dependent Trust". This is a  trust that has to do with your total dependence on God as your only source of help. There is always a blessing for you when you put your trust in the Lord as your only source. In our Bible reading, King Ahazia of Israel once fell from a staircase, and he became sick. He therefore sent messengers to go enquire of Baalzebub, the god of Ekron whether he shall...

TRUST

Text : Jeremiah 17:5 & 7   "Thus says the LORD:  Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD....Blessed [is] the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD." If a man placed a  curse on another man, God can override and cancel such curse. But if  God placed a curse on a man, no man can deliver  such one from such curse and it's impact. So, when God says cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, then you must closely pay attention to yourself in order to ensure that your trust is not in any man. To avoid a curse from God, you must ensure that you wholly and completely trust and lean on Him. When you trust God, He will bless you abundantly. You  shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yieldi...

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE-2

Text : Matthew 6:33. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. We live in a world where everything is calling for your attention. Everything around you wants you to expend your time and energy on it. The order in the world is to seek everything else before the kingdom. A young child thinks he's too young to be serious about the kingdom, when he becomes a student, his education becomes the priority. After that, pursuit for food, shelter and clothing becomes paramount in his heart. And the rat race continues, until he becomes old or too weak before he remembers God. At this time, he will realize to his hurt that he has misplaced his priorities.  Unfortunately, some don't even get to realize their need for the kingdom until they close their eyes in death. Jesus Christ says, this is not the order in this kingdom. What the people of the world seeks will be added to you when you have sought the kingdom and its righteousness...

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLE

Text : Matthew 6:33.  But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Our text today is a very popular verse, but a verse that is rarely followed. First, it's important to know that Jesus was addressing His disciples in this passage. In His long sermon that is generally referred to as sermon on the mount, we saw from the beginning that Jesus was talking to His disciples. Matthew 5:1&2. Jesus was talking to His followers to seek the kingdom first. That you are a Christian doesn't mean you stop seeking the kingdom, as a matter of fact, it takes a Christian to seek the kingdom. Hence, the first principle in this kingdom, is the principle of seeking the kingdom first. Romans  14:17 says, *For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.*  To seek the kingdom first is to prioritize the kingdom above every other thing. Many things are seeking your attention in this l...

THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT

Text : Matthew 22:37-38.  Jesus told him, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’   This is the greatest and most important commandment. Without asking Jesus for the second most important commandment, He willfully offered it. He says, *The second is exactly like it: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’* (Matthew 22:39). Loving your neighbor is not necessarily a second commandment as much as it is a complement to the first commandment. You can't claim to love God with the whole of your being and not love the people God has created.  "Whoever says, “I love God,” but hates his brother is a liar. The one who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love the God whom he has not seen.(1John 4:20). Your love cycle is complete only when you love God and when you love your neighbor. Doing one without the other is like hopping on one leg. Our world is what it is today because many Christians are not obe...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 22:37-38.  *Jesus told him, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’*   *This is the greatest and most important commandment.*  An expert in the Law, in his attempt to test Jesus asked Him a very important question - He said,  “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Without mincing words, Jesus gave him an equally all-important response which spelt out the greatest commandment for us all. No theologian or bible scholar had given an apt summary of the whole law prior to that time. The totality of the law is summarized in love - love for God and love for fellow humans.  Now, the question is, "how do I obey the greatest commandment?" John 14:15 says “If you love me, keep my commandments." To fulfill the greatest commandment is to obey God's daily instructions to you. Note that to obey the greatest commandment, the whole of your heart, soul and mind must be involved. *God...

SAY AMEN 3

Text : John 17:9  *"I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours."*  Today, we shall be looking at the second prayer Jesus prayed for you which is preservation from evil. He interceded on your behalf saying, "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one." (John 17:15). Apostle John wrote thus: *"And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness.(1John 5:19)"*. It is important for you to know that you are of God, but this world in which you live in lies in wickedness.  In view of this, the Lord Jesus Christ asked the Father to keep you from the evil one. The evil one is Satan who rules the world in wickedness. Jesus knew the power of the evil one in our world, hence He asked that the Father should preserve us from the evil one. Jesus' Prayer for you concerning deliverance from the evil one has already been answered. ...

SAY AMEN-2

Text : John 17:9  "I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours." "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one." (John 17:15).
