GRATITUDE

Text : Luke 17:18.

Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” ESV.

When you are grateful to God for what He has done,  He will do more. When Jesus healed the ten lepers, He was actually expecting them to show gratitude.
He asked "Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger." (Luke 17:17-18).

When you are grateful to God and even to man, you are only opening more doors of favour to yourself. The only person that received wholeness in his body out of the ten lepers was the only one who returned to give Glory to God. (Luke 17:19).

Now, if you asked the other nine lepers why they didn't return to appreciate Jesus. They will tell you that they were actually on their way to show themselves to the priests as instructed by Jesus.

"And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed." (Luk 17:14).

Any legalistic fellow would say they were simply following orders, but this only shows the reason  people are full of ingratitude:
*Legalistic attitude makes you think that*
 *people owe you something.*
You must know that  whatever you receive from parents, husband, wife, boss,  colleagues, pastors etc,  is a privilege, it's never your right. You must learn to show appreciation to both God and man. As a matter of fact, you must learn to show appreciation even to your employees or servants.

Jesus answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. John 3:27. All that you have were actually given to you. You came to this world naked, so you must learn to appreciate whatever you have. Remember Godliness with contentment is a great gain. (1 Tim.6:6).

Let it be your resolve to drop all form of ingratitude you have bagged over the years, and develop a grateful attitude. When you learn how to appreciate, then your whole life will start to appreciate. To be grateful is to be graceful.

Take time to reflect on people God has used to be a blessing to you these past years and say thank you to them.

*Gratitude is the combination of Greatness and  Attitude. Anyone with a right attitude is on his way to greatness.*

Take time to reflect, and to show gratitude to God for all He has done for you in this year.

 *Bible reading:*

 Psalms 136:1-26.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. ASK God to forgive you for  every act of ingratitude shown in the past,  both towards Him and towards man.

2. Pray for Grace to be grateful for all that you are receiving both physically and spiritually.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
