SO MUCH MORE

 Text: Isaiah 9:6.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;   and the government will be upon his shoulder,   and his name is called   Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,   Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Two days ago was Christmas day. Yesterday was tagged boxing day and today, you may be tempted to think the celebration is over. No, the King of kings can't be boxed into two days celebration. He is to be celebrated and praised forever.

When Herod heard about His birth, he took him for just any child he can kill at his command. No, He is more than a child. He was not just a child, He is a child that carries the government on His shoulder. 'And of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end.' Isaiah 9:7.

He is so much more than the new dresses you bought for this festive season. He is so much more than the special delicacies. He is so much more than all the decorations. He is so much more than the beautiful carols and lightings. He is so much more than jamboree and carnivals.

He is the ever reigning King. He is wonderful, Counselor,  the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. When the wise men saw Him, they worshipped Him. Matthew 2:11.

If the Prince of Peace is in your life, you are to worship with your life. *Your highest worship is your total submission to His will.* He is much more than a child, He's a lamb and a Lion. Let your life be your utmost worship unto Him.

Bible Reading :

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
