SAY AMEN 3


Text : John 17:9 

*"I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours."* 

Today, we shall be looking at the second prayer Jesus prayed for you which is preservation from evil. He interceded on your behalf saying, "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one." (John 17:15).

Apostle John wrote thus: *"And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness.(1John 5:19)"*.

It is important for you to know that you are of God, but this world in which you live in lies in wickedness. 

In view of this, the Lord Jesus Christ asked the Father to keep you from the evil one. The evil one is Satan who rules the world in wickedness.

Jesus knew the power of the evil one in our world, hence He asked that the Father should preserve us from the evil one.

Jesus' Prayer for you concerning deliverance from the evil one has already been answered. You now have a responsibility of keeping yourself. The scripture says "...he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one touches him not." (1 John  5:18). You are not, and you cannot keep yourself by your own power but only in the love of God. It is when you keep yourself in God's love that you will be kept away from the evil one.

You keep yourself in the love of Jesus by abiding in Him. When you abide in Christ Jesus as a branch in the true vine, then you are saying Amen to Jesus' Prayer. (John 15: 1-3).

May the Lord give you the grace to stay connected to Christ in Jesus name.

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life.
