BE SEPERATED-2

TEXT:Proverbs 27:22

You cannot separate fools from their foolishness, even though you grind them like grain with mortar and pestle.

God wants us to be freed and separated from all forms of foolishness. Hence, He does not want us to keep going back to our vomits i.e wrongs and sins.

Today, we shall be looking at a man whose foolishness remained in him, though, he was grinded like grain with mortar and pestle. His foolishness is so ingrained in him to the point that no amount of grinding could separate him from it. May we not be in such class of men in Jesus name.

To do away with foolishness, you must take heed to instruction and live by it.

Once upon a time in Israel, a man by the name Shimei cursed and stoned King David during the time Absalom the kings's Son dethroned him. (2King 16:5-8).Shimei took advantage of David's trying moment. You can imagine a citizen cursing and casting stones at his King, the anointed of the Lord.

When David was restored, he did nothing to shimei. He however told  his Son, King Solomon never to hold him guiltless. (1King 2:9-10).

Despite all that Shimei had done to King David, he received conditional forgiveness from Solomon. King Solomon gave him a house arrest instead of killing him.

The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, "Build yourself a house in Jerusalem and dwell there, and do not go out from there anywhere. For it shall be, on the day you go out and cross the Brook Kidron, know for certain you shall surely die; your blood shall be on your own head." (1 Kings 2:36 & 37).

Though Shimei was pardoned for his wrong deeds, yet he will not learn his lessons. He simply went against the commands of the king because of the foolishness of his heart.

At the end of three years, after Shimei had received pardon and was given a house-arrest; he heard that two of his slaves had ran away, he went after them and brought them back home.(1Kings 2:39-40).

The man who has been forgiven so much could not give same forgiveness to his servants. He was so foolish that he couldn't learn from his first error. This singular act of his eventually led to his death.

The question is: Why would Shimei leave his home against the King's order?

May the Lord drive away every iota of foolishness  in our hearts in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
