HUNGER

TEXT : Matthew 5:6.

How blessed are those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness,   because it is they who will be satisfied!

Hunger is a craving or urgent need for food or a specific nutrient. Hunger is a sign of life. A dead person can't feel hungry. When you are hungry, the healthy thing to do is to eat, but I will like to add that; to eat good and balanced diet.

This is so true with spiritual things. There's a blessedness attached with being hungry for righteousness. The truth is, if you are not hungry and thirsty for righteousness, you will not get it. Your hunger for righteousness connotes the following:

1.) *It shows you are alive.* One of the symptoms of sickness or disease is loss of appetite. In the same vein, when you are no longer having desires for the things of the Spirit, know that you are spiritually sick and you need spiritual attention.

2.) *It reveals your desire for food.* It's easier to feed a hungry child than a full one. Only the hungry can be satisfied by God.

Psalms 107:9 says, "For he satisfies the longing soul.   He fills the hungry soul with good." This is why David said in Psalms 42:1 that, *As the deer pants for the water brooks,   so my soul pants after you, God.*

If you want to know how you should really hunger (desire) and thirst for righteousness, check how the deer thirst after the water brook.

God doesn't force Himself on anybody. If you are not hungry for Him, you will not be fed by Him. If you seek Him, you will find Him. He says in Proverbs  8:17 that _I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me._

There's a blessing that follows those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness. They will always be satisfied with good. The question is, what are you hungry for?

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
