Genesis 4:9.
*Later, the LORD asked Cain, “Where’s your brother Abel?” “I don’t know,” he answered. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”*
How many times have you heard people say, "It's none of my business?" Or how many times have you said it yourself? Well, a number of things may not be your business, but today, we will be talking about one thing that is your business that you probably have neglected.
It is your business to be your brother's keeper. The first man to ever commit murder was Cain. It was Cain who brought the slogan "am I my brother's keeper?" into our world. Since then, people have been operating with this individualistic spirit with one another.
It's very convenient for the enemy to catch and conquer anyone who is isolated. And this is the reason the word of God says in Hebrews 10:25 that you should not neglect to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another even more as you see the day of the Lord coming nearer.
If the disciples of old did not neglect the daily coming together of brethren, then, we must not also forsake fellowship of the brethren.
However, this is not the case in our generation. In the name of civilization, the enemy has made many people, Christians inclusive to embrace individualistic lifestyle.
People's lifestyle echo Cain's words much louder than ever before. Even siblings no longer care about themselves. You have room-mates who don't care what goes on in the life of the person they share the same room with.
It is your business to care about the people around you and the people in your space. The world calls it poke- nosing because the devil is the prince of this world, the word of God calls it brotherly love.
It is your business to care about the well-being of your neighbor, your colleagues, your classmates, your church members and everyone that God has placed around you.
You are your brother's keeper. It takes a murderer to say or act like "I am not my brother's keeper."
Your little care and show of love can rescue someone from death both physically and eternally.
