Text: Luke 2:10.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Jesus Christ is good TIDINGS personified. The angel said, I bring you good tidings of great joy. And the beautiful part of this message is, this good tidings of great joy is not for the shepherds only but the angel went further to say, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
We bless God for this complete message, otherwise some people may argue that the good tidings is selective. You and I are included in that "all people.".
This season is a season of glad tidings, put in another way, we say, this season is a season of good news. Though today may not be the actual day that our Lord was born, but it is a day set apart to celebrate His birth.
A number of times, many people tend to forget the essence of the celebration. *JESUS CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON, IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM.* His presence spells out good news to those who acknowledge Him.
The year 2025 is exactly a week from now. There's excitement in the air. This is the season when people will be spending on unnecessary stuffs. Well, in the euphoria of this excitement, it's important to know that the good news that the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ brought should really be your focus.
Isaiah was prophesying about Jesus Christ when he said, *The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;*
Jesus Christ came to this world to administer good news to mankind. But only the meek can receive this good tidings of great joy.
No achievements or success on earth can give you this great joy that Jesus brings. Nehemiah 8:10 says, ...the joy of the Lord is your strength. You will have sufficient strength to enter 2025 and flourish in it when the joy of the Lord is bubbling in you.
Jesus told us in John 15:11 that 'I’ve told you this, so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.' Now, what exactly did Jesus tell us? Well, let's look at the proceeding verse.
He said in John 15:10 that If you keep my commandments, you’ll abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.
As we are celebrating the King of kings today, remember that to have the joy of the Lord in you and to remain in this joy, you must seek to keep His commandments.
Beloved, His commandment is very simple - “This is my commandment: that you love one another as I have loved you, John 15:12. When you obey this, His great joy will always abide in you.
WISHING YOU A VERY BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!!
