JESUS IS COMING BACK

Text : 2 Peter 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. The first century Christians were eagerly waiting for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. They waited till they all slept (died). They believed strongly that Jesus Christ would be coming back shortly after His departure.  I believe they lived every day of their lives with great expectation for the coming of the Lord. No wonder they lived such a holy lives.  Today, the case is different, you will hardly hear about the second coming of Christ in the church all through the year. Many  churches emphasise more on tithes and offerings than the second coming of Christ. When you read the Epistles (letters written by the Apostles to the churches in the new testament), you will discover how much attention they ga...

OUR SHELTER

Text : Psalms  61:3   For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. We live in critical and perilous times. The globe is being threatened in every possible way one could imagine. Romans  8:22 says that we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. Since the fall, our first parents(Adam and Eve) there's no place in this whole wide world that is safe anymore. Our first parents fell out of their safe haven and thereby exposing the whole of humanity to the devil and its evils. While in the garden of Eden, God was their very habitation. I believe that Eden was both a geographical location and a spiritual environment that is enveloped with God's manifest presence. *Today, no place in the whole wide world is safe except the secret place of the most High God, and that is, His presence.*   The kind of house you dwell in determines the kind of protection you are liable to receive. One who lives in a woody ...

SHINE YOUR LIGHT-2

Text : Matthew 5:16   Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven . It is time for you to arise and shine your light for the world to see. God dwells in light. He is Light personified. Hence, He does not need your light to shine before He can  see, rather, He wants you to shine your light for men and the world to see. And how will they see your light? Through your good works. Matthew 5:16. The book of First Timothy chapter 6 verse 16 described God as one "who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power."  When your light shines well before men, they in turn will give glory to God.  *The extent to which your light shines, is the extent to which men give God Glory.* That's the reason Jesus said,  _"let your light so shine..."_  *If you will not so shine your light, men will not see your good works. A...

SHINE YOUR LIGHT

Text : Matthew 5:16   Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. The world is full of enough problem and darkness that you must not add yours to it, rather, you must seek to be the solution and light.  This has always been Jesus' intention during His earthly ministry. While He was on earth physically, He said, "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world" (John  9:5). This statement described Jesus' desire and purpose for His followers as well.  Jesus wanted His followers to be deliberate in shinning their light in this crooked and perversed world. This is because the world is in darkness. If you wouldn't shine your light, the darkness will continually grow thicker and thicker.  The statement "let your light so shine before men..." simply means that the task of shinning God's light within you is up to you. You may or may not shine the light God has put within you....

OPERATIONAL SPIRIT 3

Text: Ephesians 2:1-2 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:*  Yesterday,  we looked into one of the ways the operational spirits of this world rule and have expressions through men, today, we shall look at the other way of operation.  Apart from the course of this world which every child of disobedience runs, they also walk according to the prince of the power of the air. Just as many are running the course of this world without even realising it,so also many are rejecting salvation, the gospel of peace because the prince of the air is in operation in their lives.   2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost, In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious g...

OPERATIONAL SPIRIT 2

Text: Ephesians 2:1-2   And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;*   *Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: It is an open truth that man is governed by spirits, because man is a spirit-being, it's either you are controlled by the Spirit of God or by evil spirits.  Everyone who is not born again is known in the spirit realm as the children of disobedience. And the operational Spirit that works in the children of disobedience has two patterns of operation.  1.) It makes them walk (behave) according to the course of this world.  The spiritual obviously rules the physical. Nothing just happens, they are made to happen.  This world has a course its running. The students are everybody who is not being ruled the the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:2 says, *For the law of the Spirit...

OPERATIONAL SPIRIT

Text: Ephesians 2:1-2   And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;*   *Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:  *When you think of where and what Christ had saved you from, your heart should be eternally grateful to Him.*  Before you received Christ into your life, you were dead in trespasses and sins. You were a dead man, the only world you were alive to was the world of trespasses and sins. Have you ever wondered why some people are completely dull snd unresponsive when it comes to spiritual matters, well, it's because they are dead. Anyone who is not in Christ is a living corpse. He's a dead man working and walking.  So one great thing God did for us is that He quickened us from the dead so we can be alive to walk away from dead works, From the spirit that is operating in this world....

THE GOOD LABOUR

Text :  John 6:27.    Do not  labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him. Many christians only know how to labour for the meat that perishes, but not for that which does not. There are things God doesn't want us (His children) to labour for. Jesus specifically says, "... labour not for the meat which perishes".   *Anything that is perishable is not worth your labour, stop sweating over it.*  While Jesus does not say that you must not work in order to cater for your daily needs, he however wants you to expend your labour on meat which endures unto everlasting life. A day after Jesus had miraculously fed thousands of people with bread and fish, a large crowd came to Him so He can perform the "bread miracle" for them again. Jesus replied them, “Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, you are looking for me, not becaus...

I SHALL RISE AGAIN

Text :  Micah  7:8  Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.  *As long as God's breath remains in you, you must keep hope alive even in the face of great adversity.* You must know that there is always a rising up for you even when you fall.  Our text says, "when I fall..." and not "If I fall..." because it is certain there would always be a down and dark times in one's life. It is at this time, your enemy likes to rejoice over you. For instance, David's  down and dark time happened when he left his throne because his son, Absalom committed treason against him.  This season was a challenging moment in his life. While David and his men were on the run, a man by the name Shimei accosted them and began to curse king David.  Shimei cursed King David and said to him,  _"...Come out! Come out! You bloodthirsty man, you rogue! The LORD has brought upon you all ...

BREAKTHROUGH

Text :  Daniel  2:48    Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.  *Without a 'going through', you'll never experience a breakthrough.*  Look through the Bible and you will see that there's always a gory story behind every glory.  Before the palace,  Joseph had to go through the prison.  Before kingship, David had to kill Goliath.  Before freedom,  Esther had to risk her life. Before promotion,  Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had to go through fire. Daniel had the lion's den story to share before he could outlive four Kings. And we could go on and on. Even for our Lord and Master, before glory and ascension, Jesus had to go through gruesome crucifixion. So, be rest assured that what you are going through right now is not peculiar to you. It's just a passage to your manifestation....

YEAST

Text: Matthew 16:12. Then they understood that he did not say to beware of the yeast used in bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.*    *For every thing Jesus warned us to beware of, you will do well to take it very seriously.*  In Matthew 16:6, Jesus told His disciples, “Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!” His disciples took the word literally, presuming that He was talking about the kitchen yeast. Well, we thank God Jesus explained what he meant. By yeast, He was referring to the teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees.  Though, they may not go by that name today, but you should be aware of anyone who comes in the name of God with teachings that is aimed at bloating the flesh. In Matthew 24, while talking about the signs of the end time, the very first sign (warning) Jesus gave us are the deceivers. Matt.24:3-5. These deceivers will come in the name of Pastors, prophets, teachers and the likes and they will bring dam...

SERVANTS- 2

Text: Romans 6:16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Interestingly,  you are in control of whom you submit to as servants, however, once your choice is made you have automatically chosen your outcome.*  Jesus said emphatically in Matthew 6:24 that no one can serve two masters. You can't serve God and mammon. In the same way, you can't serve sin and righteousness at the same time. If you have been freed from sin, you have become slaves of righteousness and vice versa. Roman 6:18. Many who refer to themselves as servants of God today are actually servants of Sin. A number of activities they engage in (even in the name of  God) are engineered by sin. Sins like greed, competition, pride, covetousness, selfish ambition, showmanship and the likes are the motivation for the services rendered in God's name.  The question is, who is your master? Wh...

SERVANTS

Text: Romans 6:16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Essentially, humans are servants to either of these two entities-sin or obedience. Anyone who is not born again has only one perpetual master- *sin* . But a believer can have either of the two as masters depending on whom he choses to obey. In John 8:34, Jesus said that  *Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.* This 'whosoever' means whosoever.  So anyone with 'hyper-grace' belief  who is committing sin is a servant of sin. The power of death is sin and the power of righteousness is Obedience. As a new born in Christ, God quickened your spirit man from the dead so you can use your Will to obey Christ.  From our text, it's clear  that man can either be a servant of sin or of obedience. That is, whenever you are walking in disobedience to God, ...

LIFE ISN'T FAIR-2.

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. One major way to stay afloat in this unfair and turbulent world, is to always find a niche to encourage yourself in the Lord God.*  David would have lost all; his wives, sons, daughters and that of his followers had it not been for his personal encouragement in the Lord. In the face of hard times and difficult situations, if you do not encourage yourself in the Lord, no one will do that for you. When no one is available to support, comfort, console or encourage you in difficult times, you must always know one truth for certain- God is always there for you. The one who orchestrates life that is unfair is not God but the devil. He is the one making your journey on this side  of eternity strenuous. The enemy had entered David's camp and carted away his beloved ones and...

LIFE ISN'T FAIR-2

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. Life comes with wins and losses, hence, you must learn to handle both in God-honouring ways. Life is not fair, and you must never expect it to be. The only thing that God expects of you is simply to trust Him as you journey through the thick and thin of life. As a child of God, God wants you to be tougher than any tough situations life may throw at you. Proverbs 24:10 says If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Jesus also told us in  John 16:33 that in the world you shall have tribulation, he further said that you should be of good cheer because he has overcome the world. From our study text, David and his men came back from the war front to the land of Philstines all to discover that his wives, sons, daughters and that of his men had been taken ca...

FRIENDSHIP- 2

Text: Proverbs 17:17. A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.  *It's important to be friendly with everyone, but it's much more important to be selective in choosing your friends.*  Being friendly is to be generally warm, approachable and easy to relate with in character.  However, not everyone can qualify to be your friend.  A friend among other things is someone you share your life with and vice versa. That someone can be a member of your family or someone you are not related to at all. But friends in the true sense of the word has the ability to make or mar you, hence, the need to choose your friends carefully.  Let these nuggets guide you into how to choose your friends. 1.) *You choose your friends* and not the other way round. The decision to be friends with someone should lie exclusively with you. Never be pressured or bullied into becoming someone's friend. 2.) *You should know your values.* Whoever does not share the same valu...

FRIENDSHIP

Text: Proverbs 17:17. A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Friendship is an asset. True friends are not in the relationship for what they can get out of it nor do they abandon or betray their friends in bad times.  Biblical friends stick with you even when there is no perceived benefits in doing so and even in the midst of adversity. Friendship is scarce today, you must take time out and make effort to build one. Proverbs 18:24  says A man that has friends must show himself friendly. The first principle to making or getting a good and reliable friend is to ensure you are one. MAKE YOURSELF FRIENDLY. Essentially, you attract who you are. If you want a trustworthy, reliable and caring friend, you must have those qualities too. Go out of your way to be of help to others. Be hospitable. Be accommodating.  The truth is, God has designed it that the ladder you need to climb to the next phase of your life is wrapped in another person. Until that per...

LUKEWARMNESS

Text: Revelation  3:15 &16. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.* *So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. You must choose where you belong. We live in a world where it is difficult to tell who a Christian really is.  In simple language,  a Christian is anyone who is Christ-like. You are not a Christian because you go to church but because you are like Christ, in words, thoughts and actions. This mixed identity is not a new phenomenon in christendom. From the Bible days, we have had people who claim they are for God, but who really are not. Jesus said this of the Laodicean Church - You say, “I am rich. I have become wealthy. I don’t need anything.” Yet you don’t realize that you are miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.Rev 3:17. The same is true about many Christians today. They say they are Christians, pastors, Bishops, church workers and all, yet they are sim...
