SERVANTS

Text: Romans 6:16.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Essentially, humans are servants to either of these two entities-sin or obedience.

Anyone who is not born again has only one perpetual master- *sin* . But a believer can have either of the two as masters depending on whom he choses to obey.

In John 8:34, Jesus said that  *Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.* This 'whosoever' means whosoever.  So anyone with 'hyper-grace' belief  who is committing sin is a servant of sin.

The power of death is sin and the power of righteousness is Obedience. As a new born in Christ, God quickened your spirit man from the dead so you can use your Will to obey Christ.

From our text, it's clear  that man can either be a servant of sin or of obedience. That is, whenever you are walking in disobedience to God, you are not only sinning, you are yielding yourself as slave to sin.

Being born again doesn't automatically means that your flesh and the devil will stop tempting you to sin, rather being born again gives you the power to stop sinning. You must know that having power to do something and actually using that power are two different things.

This is why Romans 6:14 says, For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

You have been given grace to say no to sin and yes to righteousness. Use this grace to deny all forms of ungodliness and yield yourself as servant unto righteousness.

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. (Titus 2:11-12).

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

THE GREATEST

Text : Matthew 18:4   *Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.*   *Being the greatest in the kingdom is not about what you do but who you are.* Jesus pointed out here that little children are humble beings. Hence, what qualifies a person as the greatest in the kingdom of heaven is humility. Little children are both lowly and meek. These are qualities that does not come naturally to an adult. For instance, when you bring a little child from a wealthy background to live in a very poor home with another poor little child, he will gladly comply without any struggle. He will never complain or compare. He will simply adapt and gladly receive all the low and impoverished treatments. No adult or grown up child can accept this so easily.  That is the reason Jesus did not ask us to be converted and become as a child but ' *little child* '   _And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be co...
