Text : Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
The world is full of enough problem and darkness that you must not add yours to it, rather, you must seek to be the solution and light.
This has always been Jesus' intention during His earthly ministry. While He was on earth physically, He said, "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world" (John 9:5). This statement described Jesus' desire and purpose for His followers as well.
Jesus wanted His followers to be deliberate in shinning their light in this crooked and perversed world. This is because the world is in darkness.
If you wouldn't shine your light, the darkness will continually grow thicker and thicker.
The statement "let your light so shine before men..." simply means that the task of shinning God's light within you is up to you. You may or may not shine the light God has put within you. The choice is always yours.
You must make up your mind to allow God's light within you to shine before men.
Only those who have been illuminated by God's light can shine their light. That's why the scripture has commanded you to
*"Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you"* (Isaiah 60:1). God wouldn't ask you to arise and shine if His light hasn't risen upon you.
Go and Shine His light within you for your world to see that they might glorify your Father in heaven.
