JESUS IS COMING BACK


 
Text : 2 Peter 3:10 
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

The first century Christians were eagerly waiting for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. They waited till they all slept (died). They believed strongly that Jesus Christ would be coming back shortly after His departure. 

I believe they lived every day of their lives with great expectation for the coming of the Lord. No wonder they lived such a holy lives. 

Today, the case is different, you will hardly hear about the second coming of Christ in the church all through the year. Many  churches emphasise more on tithes and offerings than the second coming of Christ.

When you read the Epistles (letters written by the Apostles to the churches in the new testament), you will discover how much attention they gave to the building up of Christians' life and second coming of Christ.
 
 *There are many preachers today, but very few messengers.* One cannot be a messenger of our Lord Jesus Christ without being a true preacher, but it is possible to be a preacher without being a messenger of Christ.

Jesus wants you to tell the people in the world and the folks in the church constantly about His coming back.

When your mind is set on the second coming of Christ, you will realise that Satan, Sin and this world will not be able to hold you down anymore. It is important for you to keep yourself in remembrance of Christ"s second coming. This mindset will always keep you pure.

1 John 3:2 says, Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  Verse three says, And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

You must daily wait and keep your watch for the coming of the groom because He will be coming when you  least expected.

To you as a believer, Christ should not come like a thief in the night. This is because you are not people of the night but of the day. Therefore, you are not expected to be sleeping and slumbering in the day time.

 *Get ready, Jesus Christ is coming Back.*

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil.
