OPERATIONAL SPIRIT 3

Text: Ephesians 2:1-2

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:* 

Yesterday,  we looked into one of the ways the operational spirits of this world rule and have expressions through men, today, we shall look at the other way of operation. 

Apart from the course of this world which every child of disobedience runs, they also walk according to the prince of the power of the air.

Just as many are running the course of this world without even realising it,so also many are rejecting salvation, the gospel of peace because the prince of the air is in operation in their lives. 

 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost,
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

One major work of the god of this world is to blind the minds of unbelievers from seeing the light of the glorious gospel of Christ. 

This goes to show that apart from the physical eyes, we have inner eyes which is used to see spiritual things. Once these inner eyes are blinded,  the person's understanding to spiritual matters becomes next to impossible. 

Ephesians  4:18 explains it thus - Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart. 

To be free from the grip of the prince of this world is to seek to have your inner eyes opened, then the light of the glorious gospel will be shed on your understanding.

No one who has the understanding of God's truth will remain in darkness. Hence, the need to earnestly pray to God to grant you understanding in your inner mind.

Also,  you need to stand in the gap for as many that you know who are still living in darkness that God in His infinite mercy will open their eyes so they may be free from the operations of the prince of the power of the air.

 *PRAYER FOCUS* 

1.) Father Lord, I pray that you will give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation that the eyes of my understanding may be enlightened.

2.) Father, please by your mercy, open the eyes of those whom the prince of this world had blinded that they may be saved.

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil.
