I WILL RISE AGAIN-2

Image
Text :  Micah  7:8  Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. You are made up of a bouncing stuff like a ball, and not like a flower vase made from ceramic; hence when you fall you shall rise again like a bouncing ball and you shall not be broken and shattered like flower vase. Proverbs  24:16 says  that " _For a just man falls seven times, and rises up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief" When a righteous man falls, he rises again, but when a wicked man falls that's the end. Today, we shall be looking at the latter part of our text which focuses on those sitting in the darkness.  The first thing you need to know is that darkness is anything but light. When you find yourself sitting in darkness, the LORD Himself shall be a light unto you.  This is the reason Jesus came as the light of the world. "The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the

Text :  Micah  7:8  Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.  *As long as God's breath remains in you, you must keep hope alive even in the face of great adversity.* You must know that there is always a rising up for you even when you fall.  Our text says, "when I fall..." and not "If I fall..." because it is certain there would always be a down and dark times in one's life. It is at this time, your enemy likes to rejoice over you. For instance, David's  down and dark time happened to him when he left his throne and palace because his son, Absalom committed treason against him.  This season was a challenging moment in his life. While David and his men were on the run, a man by the name Shimei accosted them and began to curse king David.  Shimei cursed King David and said to him,  _"...Come out! Come out! You bloodthirsty man, you rogue! The LORD has brought upon you

IT IS WRITTEN-2

Text :   Matthew 4:4. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Before Jesus knew what was written concerning Him, He must have taken His time to read it.  *How much of what is written (in the Bible) concerning you do you know? What you don't know is above you, be informed.*  The word of God is regarded as sword. Ephesians  6:17  says *take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:*  When you don't read and retain the word of God in you, you have no sword with which to fight. *A swordless soldier is a defenseless soldier.*  If Jesus Christ took His time to read the word, you have no excuse not to do same. The word of God is a lamp and a light.   _Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path._ Psalms  119:105. Light gives illumination and direction to its holder, when you are short on the word, you'll lack direction for living.  When

Text :   Matthew 4:4. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Jesus while He was here on earth was 100% man. Though He was God, but He stripped Himself of all divine glories and power and came in flesh and blood like you and I.  Romans 8:3 made us understand that God sent His own son in the likeness of flesh and blood that He may condemn sin in the flesh. Jesus came into this world not just to reconcile us back to the Father but also to model to us how man can live a victorious life while here on earth. This is why Hebrews  4:15 says For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.*  To live a victorious life here on earth,  wisdom demands that you look into how Jesus lived and do likewise.  The devil tempted the first Adam and he fell. By reason of this fall, all mankind became sinners a

ATTITUDE-2

Text : Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Coincidence or not, it has been proven that if knowledge, hardwork, and attitude are written numerically,  it's only attitude that will add up to 100%. That is, if letter A is 1, B=2, C=3 all through till Z which is 26. Then, when you add up each letter in ATTITUDE according to the numbers they represent it will give 100. It is your attitude towards life that makes life 100% or otherwise. "Your attitude determines your altitude", goes the popular saying. If you will be sincere with yourself,  you would have noticed one attitude or the other in yourself that is not so comely and that you will like to do away with. However,  sheer determination alone is not sufficient to change a bad attitude.  It takes the workings of God in a man via His words to alter his attitude.  Psalms 119:9 says How

ATTITUDE

Text : Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Attitude is the disposition of your mind or way of carrying yourself. Your attitude determines how you see and react to daily issues of life.  Attitude is everything. And no one can develop good and right attitude without God's word.  When you cooperate with God to get your mind renewed, you are simply engaging in the development of right attitude.God's word is the only effective tool for altering your attitude in a positive and lasting way. Allowing the Spirit of God to change the arrangements and contents of your mind through God's word is the only way you can experience transformation in your life. Psalms  19:7 affirms that the law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. God's word is the only perfect thing on earth that

THE REAL WORTH-2

Image
Text :Matthew  16:26   For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? The soul of man is so big and deep that it can take up the whole world and still have space left.  So when Jesus said what will it profit you if you give your soul in exchange for the world, it portrays the worth of your soul vis-a-vis this world.  If you transact and exchange your soul (life) for this world, you will still be making a loss. Your  enemy, the devil who is offering you the world in exchange for your soul will not in anyway settle for the same world himself. The devil knows too well that your soul is worth much more than the whole world, so don't be deceived to accept his offer in exchange for your precious soul. Having believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you must allow Him to save your soul to the uttermost. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through

THE REAL WORTH

Image
Text :Matthew  16:26   For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? This world is not worth the real worth of your soul. It's not worth it to stake your precious soul for this world! If you carefully observe this world with God's eye glasses, you will realise that you are living in a fallen, sick and hurting world. The question then is, "why must I stake my soul on a fallen, sick and hurting world?" Jesus had asked a question which many are yet to provide a candid answer to. He asked one question in two different ways: 1. What is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  2.What shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Many religious and churchy folks who think they know the answer will quickly reply and say, Nothing! While many can only provide theoretical answer to Jesus' question, they are however unable to experience a victorious life abo

THE POTTER AND THE CLAY-2

Image
Text :   Isaiah 64:8. But as for you, O LORD, you are our Father; and we are clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hands. God is the divine potter and humans are the clay. But not many people are truly pliable in the potter's hand because they are not willing to surrender to the process. Obviously, the clay goes through a lot of processes before arriving at the final stage or product. We definitely can't look into these processes but we'll touch on three of them. At every stage of our lives,  God is moulding us into what He wants us to be and when He's done with each phase, He opens us up to the fire (drying) process. Once you cooperate with this process, He will open you up to the next phase. There are three main stages of firing (drying) clay. The first stage is the drying process.  Clay needs to be bone dry before it’s fired. At this point, the potter had already moulded something but he needs to expose the clay to air dry it and later sun dry it

THE POTTER AND THE CLAY

Text :   Isaiah 64:8. But as for you, O LORD, you are our Father; and we are clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hands. To grow, you have to go through the process.* Without a 'going through', there won't be breakthrough.  Have you ever considered your relationship with God in light of Potter-clay relationship, where God is the potter and you, the clay? Naturally,  the potter has the prerogative to decide what and how he wants the clay to turn out. Unlike the clay however,  man has the will power to either accept or reject the potter's plan or design.  However,  God wants you to relax in His hands like a clay in a potter's hand and trust Him to bring out the best in you. Hear what the Potter has to say concerning you in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for well-being, and not for calamity, in order to give you a future and a hope. Your future is well thought out and secured in God, His plans fo

OF MORE VALUE

Image
Text: Matthew 10:31  Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Do you know what a sparrow looks like? Check the dictionary, one word that is common to all the definitions of sparrow is "small." Sparrow is a very small bird, so small that the Bible says you have to sell two of it before it can get a worth. Matthew  10:29 - Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. Two sparrows were sold for a penny. Luke records that five sparrows were sold for two pennies (Luke 12:6). This means the buyer received the fifth sparrow for free because one sparrow had no value. Now, why will Jesus compare human beings with sparrows? He was simply trying to tell us how very detailed and caring our Father is. *If God can care for a valueless sparrow,  then you should know He is so mindful of you. He said  Fear not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. One of the greatest weapons the devil uses agai

FRUITFULNESS

Image
Text: Genesis 1:28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. God blessed Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden to be fruitful. This is a blessing of BEING and not of DOING. *The first blessing God gave to man was in form of a command- BE FRUITFUL! The fruitfulness God blessed man with is not only for reproduction. It goes beyond child bearing. God wanted man to bring forth fruit that will give Him glory and praise amongst all His creations on earth and in heaven.  He commanded man to be  fruitful because man is like the plantings of the LORD  in the garden.  Isaiah  61:3 talks about one of the assignments of the Messiah as one who is to "..... _give(Israel/humanity) beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; *that they might be cal

DOMINION

Image
Text :   Genesis 1:26.  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. From the very beginning, God's intention for man is that he should have dominion over all of His creation. Note that at no point did God tell us to exercise dominion over fellow man, this came about by reason of the fall of man.  To work in God’s image is to exercise dominion. Exercising royal dominion over the earth as God's representative is the basic purpose for which God created man.... Man is appointed king over creation, and he is responsible to God the ultimate King. Before the fall, man was in charge of every thing God created- the sea and everything in it, the air and everything in it, the land and everything in it, the earth and everything in it. Genesis 1:26. After the fall however,  man lost thi

RUN TO GOD-2

Text: Mark 5:25 & 26 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. Though you can't see God with your physical eyes, yet He is the most dependable help you can ever access.God is more reliable and dependable than any human being around you. The woman in our Bible reading has exhausted all known and available options until she met Jesus. Infact, she ran to Jesus because all hope was lost. The woman with the issue of blood was healed because she turned to the appropriate quarter.  If you would also run to God right now, He will save and set you free. One major hindrance that keeps many away from coming to God is unbelief. Before the woman with the issue of blood approached Jesus, she simply believed wholeheartedly that she would be healed if only she could touch Jesus' clothes.(Mark 5:28). God only rewards faithful and dilligent se

RUN TO GOD

Text:Mark 5:25 & 26 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When the goings gets tough and hard, the best person to run to is God. He is always the only best option that guarantees true and lasting help. For so many like this woman with the issue of blood, they will not run to God until they have reached their wits end. The woman came to Jesus when she had suffered many things from many physicians, and has spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered for it... You need not wait till you are almost stranded before you learn to seek help from God. It is never too late for you to turn to God.  Don't wait another one more day before you run to God about your  problem. Isaiah 55:6 admonished you to  "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near" Run  to God now and He will provide you with

GREAT EXPLOIT

Image
Text :  Daniel 11:32  And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. Everyone knows what 'great' and 'exploit' is, great means very big or large scale, while exploit means a heroic or extraordinary deed. However, 'great' and 'exploit' has different meanings in heaven and on earth.   Luke 16:15 says “You try to justify yourselves in front of people, but God knows your hearts, because *what is highly valued by people is detestable to God.*  A number of times, what man considers as great is inconsequential and detestable before God.   That's why He said, "for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,    for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts". (Isaiah  55:8-9). The Bible is full of people who did great exploits but who might go unrecognised

MERCY

Image
Text : Lamentations 3:22&23 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. It's quite comforting to know that God's mercies and compassions are new every morning. In other words, you can say that God's goodness,  kindness and compassion come fresh to you every morning.  Is it not amazing that we daily receive fresh and new package of God's mercy and compassion. The daily supply of God's mercies and compassion is hinged  on His faithfulness and not your merit.* It is very important for you to know that mercy and compassion are not only needed when you sin or do something wrong.  They are like oxygen that we need for breathing.   God reveals His mercy in multidimensional phases and levels. Sometimes you need judgement (discernment) to be able to understand the operations of His mercy.  In fact,  the truth is: Man does not and cannot understand the mystery of His mer

EXTRA MILE-3

Image
Text :   Genesis 24:19.  When she had finished giving him a drink, she also said, “I’ll also draw water for your camels until they’ve had enough to drink.” The story was told of a 24 year old Isreali climber, Nadav Ben-Yehuda. He was 300 meters from the summit of Everest when he gave up his dream of conquering the planet's highest peak in order to save an injured Turkish climber.  At a point, Ben-Yehuda had to choose between being the youngest Isreali to climb Everest, which will be great for his career or to try to take a climber who was at the point of death off the mountain. He chose the second option and became a 21st century example of what humanity should look like.  People commented and are still commenting on his heroic acts. Generally, people are of the opinion that his action of helping to save another person's life is more laudable than his ambition of a great climber. Ben-Yehuda went an extra-mile in showing kindness to a fellow man, and this is what God is expectin

MORE THAN ENOUGH-3

Text : 2 Kings 4:3  He told her, “Go out to all of your neighbors in the surrounding streets and borrow lots of pots from them. Don't get just a few empty vessels, either. Yesterday we established the truth that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think. And that He can only do this based on the workings of His power  at work in you. Hence, all you need do is submit yourself to Him unreservedly. Today, we shall be looking at how you can further position yourself in order to access the more than enough provision from the Lord.  In the midst of deliberation on how to get provision to feed more than 5,000 people who attended Jesus' crusade, Andrew brought a ridiculous quantity of five(5) barley loaves and two small fishes.  To Andrew, He just thought he was simply mentioning a provision that cannot match up with the need at hand. As for Jesus, he had simply brought all that is needed for the miracle of provision. Always learn to be grateful for the l

Text : 2 Kings 4:3  He told her, “Go out to all of your neighbors in the surrounding streets and borrow lots of pots from them. Don't get just a few empty vessels, either. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us._ (Ephesians 3:20). Note that while God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think; God's workings in your life is according to the power that works in you. And that power is His.  The only thing you have to do is simply allow the power of God work in you. *The power of God at work in you is the Holy Spirit. When you allow Him, He will do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or imagine. The major hindrance to the workings of God's power in you is yourself. I mean your mindset. You often undermine the operations of God's Spirit in your life by your reasoning. (2King 7:1-2). The text we are considering stated the instruction given to the wi
