OF MORE VALUE

Text: Matthew 10:31

Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Do you know what a sparrow looks like? Check the dictionary, one word that is common to all the definitions of sparrow is "small." Sparrow is a very small bird, so small that the Bible says you have to sell two of it before it can get a worth.

Matthew  10:29 - Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

Two sparrows were sold for a penny. Luke records that five sparrows were sold for two pennies (Luke 12:6). This means the buyer received the fifth sparrow for free because one sparrow had no value.

Now, why will Jesus compare human beings with sparrows?

He was simply trying to tell us how very detailed and caring our Father is. *If God can care for a valueless sparrow,  then you should know He is so mindful of you.

He said  Fear not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

One of the greatest weapons the devil uses against man is *FEAR* .

Fear of the known and fear of the unknown.

A single person fears if he or she will ever get married,  he fears if he or she will get married to the right person. Once this huddle is crossed, he fears if there would be children.

When the children come, he fears if they would die, once they survived,  the fear of how the children will succeed in life sets in and the chains of fear continues. Note that all these fears are nothing compared to the kind of fears some people nurse.

Jesus says, FEAR NOT.

All the things you are worried about or that you might later worry about are all known to your heavenly Father and He's committed to taking care of them. Mathew 6:32.

One striking truth Jesus said in this passage is that the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Mathew. 10:30. This sounds unbelievable, but we know that God cannot lie.

A God that numbers the hair on your head is more concerned about every little details of your life, Learn to trust Him ALWAYS.

BIBLE READING: Matthew 10: 27-33.

PRAYER FOCUS

1. Father, I receive the grace to trust you in all situation, knowing that you care about me.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
