THE POTTER AND THE CLAY-2

Text :   Isaiah 64:8.

But as for you, O LORD, you are our Father; and we are clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hands.

God is the divine potter and humans are the clay. But not many people are truly pliable in the potter's hand because they are not willing to surrender to the process.

Obviously, the clay goes through a lot of processes before arriving at the final stage or product. We definitely can't look into these processes but we'll touch on three of them.

At every stage of our lives,  God is moulding us into what He wants us to be and when He's done with each phase, He opens us up to the fire (drying) process. Once you cooperate with this process, He will open you up to the next phase.

There are three main stages of firing (drying) clay.

The first stage is the drying process.  Clay needs to be bone dry before it’s fired. At this point, the potter had already moulded something but he needs to expose the clay to air dry it and later sun dry it as the case may be.

In as much as you breath in air and you are under the sun, you will be faced with some challenges which God had permitted into your life in order to strengthen you.

Jesus Christ said  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33.

The second stage is bisque firing.  During the bisque fire, soluble greenware clay is transformed into ceramic material.

The third stage is the glaze fire.

All the three stages of drying clay has to do with application of heat (or fire) on a progressive note.

Note, that the potter applies heat not so He can destroy the clay but so he can make it stronger and durable.

Any clay that is not heated up will eventually crack and fall apart. If you don't want to crack and fall apart, don't run away from the heating process of God.

BIBLE READING: Jeremiah 18:1-17.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
