THE PROCESS

Image
Text : Isaiah 64:8. But as for you, O LORD, you are our Father; and we are clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hands. Imagine the process gold goes through before it comes out as gold. Now imagine that the gold has a will-power, probably it will simply jump out of the process when too much heat is applied.  For us to come out as a refined product in the hands of God, we have to pass through processes. Unlike inanimate objects however, *man has the will power to abort the process that should launch him into destiny, be careful not to do that. We shall be looking at some individuals and the processes they went through before they became the icons we know them to be today. The very first case study we will consider is Joseph.  Joseph had a dream which was given to him by the Lord. (Genesis 37)  From a tender age he had the understanding that he was to be a ruler. It is important to know why you are here. *You are not a product of mistake, God has a specific plan in m

THE KINGDOM-2

Image
Text: Matthew 13:19  When anyone hears the word about the kingdom yet doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path. While explaining the parable of the sower to His disciples, Jesus mentioned some salient truths that we can't afford to turn a blind eye to.  As already established yesterday, kingdom matters are revealed in words, and this is why you need to continually ask God for a hearing ears. Proverbs 20:12. Not everyone with physical hearing ability has capacity to hear what the Spirit is saying, you need an inner ear to grasp that. Many are deaf spiritually, they just don't know it. Revelation 2:7. One dangerous thing that happens to spiritually deaf people is that their life is opened to the operations of the evil one. Jesus said anyone who hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. The devil has no problem with

THE KINGDOM

Image
Text : Matthew 13:19  When anyone hears the word about the kingdom yet doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path. Basically, there are two kingdoms- the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan, you are either in one of the two. You can't be in the two at the same time, and there is no middle ground. Colossians 1:13, Revelation 16:10.  Access into the kingdom of God can only be gained through Jesus Christ. And this only comes through hearing the words of the kingdom.  Jesus said, "when anyone hears the word of the kingdom...", (Matthew 13:19).This shows that words of the kingdom has to be heard.  But the question is, how many are really hearing the words of the kingdom? There are many in the church today who are not hearing the words of the kingdom.  The first step to entering into the kingdom of God is ability to hear His words. In our text, Jesus mentioned two key words that you need to pa

BIRTHDAYS

Image
Text : Psalms 90:12. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Birthday is the date on which someone is born or something is created. Everyone is entitled to one of such date once a year. Usually, this is the time when people are overly excited about who they are and what they have achieved.  The social media has helped immensely in this dimension. At times, you see some telling people on social media that "21 days loading..."in addy to me.." (whatever that means) and so on. I believe all these are just means of appreciating God for life and calling on well wishers to celebrate with you. Good as this may sound, it is important for us to know what God truly expects of and from us as regarding birthdays.  Humans' lifespan is counted in days, it is your days that culminate into years, so watch how you spend your days. From our text, it is obvious that without being taught, man will not know how to nu

SEEK THE COMMANDS-3

Image
Text: Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Having established the fact that obeying ALL things is obeying the great commandment- LOVE, today we shall be looking at the great commandment and the Great Commission. The two are intertwined. They are mutually inclusive. You cannot claim to obey one without obeying the other. True obedience to the great commission flows from a true heart that is obeying the great commandment. So, Love is ALL things because GOD Himself is ALL things , and God is Love. The fulfilment of the great commandment- "Love" is the show of your obedience to ALL THINGS that Jesus has commanded. This is because *when you start exercising yourself to true love of God and for God, keeping His sayings becomes a lot more easier.*  The first thing that shows your love for God is a ready heart that seeks to obey Him. Jesus said in John 14:21: " *Tho

SEEK THE COMMANDS-2

Image
Text: Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Our Lord Jesus Christ wants you to teach all things He has commanded, and to observe all things whatsoever He has commanded you as well. Today, we shall be looking at how you can observe all things that Jesus has commanded.  If you are not properly taught about "ALL things" that Jesus has commanded, you cannot observe them. So there must be a teacher and preacher of the commands. Apostle Paul told Timothy (in 2 Timothy 4:2&3) to Preach the word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine; because a time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. Sound doctrine defines all that Jesus has commanded you to observe. *Any preaching or teaching that is not pointing you to Jesus is not founded on sound doctrine. The "All things" commanded in the gre

DIVINE PORTION

Image
Text : 1 Samuel 9:23.  Then Samuel told the cook, “Bring the portion that I gave you, the one I told you to set aside. ” By divine arrangement, a special portion of meat was kept for Saul at a feast. Ordinarily, Saul did not have any preview to the feast, but he was made to sit on the high table as the special guest of honour. There is a divine portion assigned specifically for you in this life, may your steps be rightly guided towards it. The only thing Saul had to do to receive his divine portion was to obey his father. Remember that his father sent him on an assignment which turned out to be a divine assignment. (1 Samuel 9:3) In the course of obeying this assignment, he received divine assistance and divine direction. And this led him to his divine portion. By divine orchestration, God will lead you to your divine portion and fulfilment, all He requires from you is Obedience.  As a matter of fact, He (God) Himself desires to be your portion if only you'll let Him. The LORD is t

SEEKING THE COMMANDS

Image
Text: Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. While it is good to search and lay hold on God's promises that are contained in the scriptures, it is much more important for you to search out for God's commands and instructions behind His promises Infact, a wise person will seek to know the condition(command) behind a promise than the promise itself; knowing that fulfilling the commands (condition) automatically delivers the promise to you. Though, the scripture is full of many promises of God for you as his child, but behind each of the promises lies a condition or command. Search out the commands and obey them and you will receive the promise. The great commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ was not so much about "Go" than it is about "Teach".Going alone will make no sense if the people are not being taught to obey all the commands of the Master

DIVINE DIRECTION

Image
Text : 1 Samuel 9:12 They answered them: “Yes, he is right there ahead of you. Hurry, for he came to town just today because there is a sacrifice for the people on the high place today. Have you ever asked someone for direction before who misled you and took you farther away from your destination? Well, if you haven't experienced it before you probably will know someone who has. It is not wrong to seek for direction but you need to be directed by the right person in order to be correctly directed. Saul and his servant got a divine direction in their quest for their father's lost donkeys.  When your steps are ordered by the Lord, He will make lines to fall in pleasant places for you. Psalms 16:6. It looks as though those women from whom Saul inquired were purposely stationed there to help him. See the detailed response they gave him- As they were going up the hill to the town, they met some young women going out to draw water, and they told them, “Is the seer here?” They answere

DIVINE ASSISTANCE

Image
Text : 1 Samuel 9:6. The young man said, “Look, there’s a man of God in this town. The man is respected, and everything he predicts happens. Now, let’s go there. Perhaps he can tell us about the journey on which we have set out.” What some people call luck or incidence is actually a spiritual orchestration. Behind every scene, it's either the Spirit of God or the evil spirit orchestration. For every divine assignment given by God, there is a divine assistant stationed as destiny helpers, don't despise your assistant. Just like in the case of Saul, your divine assistant will not come with that label on his forehead, but will be positioned so close to you and so willing and ready to help. Chances are that Saul would have missed his appointment with destiny had he disdained his servant that was divinely positioned to help him. After they had expended their time and energy on looking for his (Saul's) father's lost donkeys, Saul decided to call it quit and go back home. A nu

DIVINE ASSIGNMENT

Text : 1 Samuel 9:3. The donkeys belonging to Kish, Saul’s father, were lost, and Kish told his son Saul, “Take one of the young men with you, get up, and go look for the donkeys.”  *God doesn't and cannot make mistake. No child is a mistake as far as God is concerned.* The child, whether conceived in wedlock or outside is no mistake to God. Mistakes are only in the realms of men, as for God, every child has a purpose for which God has allowed him or her to come to this world.  The general purpose of man is to give God pleasure. Revelation 4:11. However, there's is a particular way that is peculiar to each individual on earth whereby God has purposed for him to give Him pleasure. Now, it is your responsibility to know the chart that God has purposed for you to walk in. A number of times, such paths are always packaged in a simple assignment given by man. For Saul, his divine assignment was packaged to him by his father. Kish, Saul’s father did not know he was being used by God

OUR SHELTER-3

Image
Text : Psalms 61:3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. Yesterday, we saw how Jesus' name is a strong tower that you can run into for salvation. Today, we shall be looking at how you can run into the name in order to access salvation (safety and protection).  *A sinner who has not first of all find salvation in the name of Jesus cannot be guaranteed of safety in the name of Jesus.* Only the righteous is guaranteed an access and safety in Jesus' name. So many 'Christians' are like the seven sons of Sceva. They are willing to use the name of Jesus to cast out devils, (willing to use His name for things) but they are not willing to submit to the Lordship of the name. You must have a stronger desire to submit to the Lordship of the name of Jesus than mere usage of the name.  By this, you will be able to access the multifaceted treasures that is in the name of Jesus. Romans 10:13 says that whosoever shall call upon the name of

OUR SHELTER-2

Image
Text : Psalms 61:3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. The Lord is not just our dwelling place but He is also strong tower.  Our text shows that He is a strong tower from the enemy. While a shelter provides you regular covering, protection and a resting place, a tower in Bible days can be likened to today's bunkers. It provides you a much stronger protection during war.  The only difference is that bunkers are underground but towers are raised high into the heaven.  For instance, there was a record of tower in the book of Judges that the people of Shechem ran into for protection from Abimelech.  Judges 9:51 says that, _there was a strong tower in the city, and all the men and women—all the people of the city—fled there and shut themselves in; then they went up to the top of the tower. While bunker is good to provide us protection in our present time, tower and stronghold were good for the people in the old time; our *God remains the

OUR SHELTER

Image
Text : Psalms 61:3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. We live in critical and perilous times. The globe is being threatened in everyway possible. Romans 8:22 says that we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. Since the fall of our first parents(Adam and Eve) in the garden of Eden, no place in this whole wide world is safe anymore. Our first parents fell out of their safe haven and thereby exposing the whole of humanity to evil. While in the garden of Eden, God was their very habitation. I believe that Eden was both a geographical location and an environment covered in God's full presence. Today, no place in the whole wide world is safe except the secret place of the most High God, and that is, His presence-our very habitation and shelter. The kind of house you dwell in will determine the kind of protection you are liable to receive. One who lives in a woody shelter stands a danger of easily getting his

FAMILY DUTIES- LOVE

Image
Text:Colossians 3:19. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. The English word 'husband' simply means to manage carefully the way a farmer carefully cultivates a plant. No one cultivates a plant by punching, cursing or neglecting it, rather, you nurse it daily with care and ensure necessary nutrients is supplied. In the same vein, a husband should carefully cultivate his wife in love and ensure she gets well nourished so she can blossom to maturity.  Not every man is a husband, you only take on that name when you become married to a woman.  Now, this name comes with its responsibility.  If you are not ready or mature to shoulder the responsibility of being a husband, then you should remain single. However, it's important to note that it takes a responsible single man to be a responsible husband. The role of a man as husband is contained in LOVE. Love here is not a feeling, emotions or sensation, it is a responsibility that only those who follow Jesus'

FAMILY DUTIES- SUBMISSION

Image
Text : Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is appropriate for those who belong to the Lord. In Colossians chapter three, verses eighteen to twenty five, the word of God spelt out what each member of the family should do in order to maintain orderliness in the home. The very first person that was addressed is the wife. I know there's much talk about gender equality in our world today, but *as children of God, we are not to follow the world's system or ideologies but to doggedly follow His word. At times, we hear women say things like, I don't have problem with submission in as much as my husband gives his love. Well, that's one corner the devil is hiding in destroying homes. God never says wives should submit to their husbands if the husband shows her love and vice versa.  The word of God simply says, wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is appropriate for those who belong to the Lord. To the preachers of gender equality, it is inapprop

FAMILY DUTIES

Image
Text :Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it wholeheartedly as though you were doing it for the Lord and not merely for people. The word of God is very explicit on what duties individual members of the family should do. By His Grace, we shall be looking at what God expects from each member of the family one after the other, but today, we shall focus on some key words from our text. 1.) WHATEVER :At times, you may be tempted to assume that God is only interested in what you do inside the church or for people in the church, but this is grossly incorrect. God is interested in everything you do, not just within the church walls, but especially outside. If every Christian takes God at His word, then our aim will be to do everything He says. Now, He says whatever you do... this includes what you do at home, in school, at your work place, amidst your colleagues and generally everywhere, do as though you were doing it unto the Lord.  God expects you to integrate your faith in the workplac

TRUST-3

Image
Text: Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; Having carefully considered what it means for a man to trust the Lord with all his heart; today, we shall be looking at how you can avoid leaning on your own understanding.   King Asa leaned on his own understanding and he lost the opportunity of conquering the very king and nation he ran to for help. Sometimes, *because you cannot trust God with all your heart, you simply fall into foolishness, and you go in search for help from those who should be seeking help from you. King Asa lean on his own understanding because he was fearful and anxious. *If your life is characterised by fear and anxiety, you cannot walk with the Lord, hence you will always lean on your understanding. The land of Judah in which King Asa ruled over was besieged by King Baasha of Israel. In fear and anxiety, King Asa ran down to King Benhadad of Syria for help. He sent treasure, silver and gold to King Benhadad that

TRUST- 2

Image
Text: Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; God's desire for you is that you trust in Him with ALL your heart and not to be choosy about how and when to trust Him. King Asa (in our Bible reading text)once trusted in the Lord while being confronted with one million Ethiopian army. He called upon the LORD for deliverance, and he received God's help. When Asa had few soldiers in his army to confront the Ethiopians, he was left with no other choice than to pray to God. He said:  "...LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee". (2 Chronicles 14:11) The Lord heard his cry and King Asa defeated the 1million Ethiopian army and their chariots with lesser army. He placed his trust in the Lord and the Lord came through for him. It

TRUST

Image
Text: Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; Trust is too weighty a load that you can't afford to put on a mere man whose breath is in his nostril When you put your trust in man, you are setting yourself up for great fall, failure and dissapointment in life. Man is a mortal being that has lots of limitations and inadequacies. These are reflected in man's limited time on earth, his limited capacity, and inadequate resources.  The person you are putting your Trust in does not have the longevity to always be around. If you put your Trust in a rich man who supplies all your need, you need to know that he will not be around till forever. Death will take him one day, and your source of help will come to an end.  In the same vein, every man on earth has a limited capacity as regards how much of demand they can bear. A husband for instance, cannot bear his wife's aggregate demands for emotional, psychological, spiritu

RAPTURE

Image
Text : 1Thessalonians 4:16.  With a shout of command, with the archangel’s call, and with the sound of God’s trumpet, the Lord himself will come down from heaven, and the dead who belong to the Christ will rise first. We have different categories of people in the world as far as the knowledge of God's word is concerned.  First, are those that are completely clueless. They have no idea of what God says. They have no idea of the times and seasons we are in.  A chunk number of this people are not Christians. They don't know Christ the Saviour. YOU HAVE A DUTY TO PREACH THE WORD OF TRUTH TO THOSE WHO ARE COMPLETELY IGNORANT OF IT. Yes, it is your responsibility as a child of God to tell those who do not know what you know about the love of Christ. But unfortunately, there are some people in the church who are equally ignorant of what God is saying. This is another category of people in the world. They are only Christians in theory (by name), but in the real sense of Christianity, t
