OUR SHELTER-3

 Text : Psalms 61:3

For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Yesterday, we saw how Jesus' name is a strong tower that you can run into for salvation.

Today, we shall be looking at how you can run into the name in order to access salvation (safety and protection).

*A sinner who has not first of all find salvation in the name of Jesus cannot be guaranteed of safety in the name of Jesus.* Only the righteous is guaranteed an access and safety in Jesus' name.

So many 'Christians' are like the seven sons of Sceva. They are willing to use the name of Jesus to cast out devils, (willing to use His name for things) but they are not willing to submit to the Lordship of the name. You must have a stronger desire to submit to the Lordship of the name of Jesus than mere usage of the name.

By this, you will be able to access the multifaceted treasures that is in the name of Jesus.

Romans 10:13 says that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, but the verse 14 says how then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?..."

So, the first thing you must do is to believe in the name of Jesus, then you can call upon the name.

If you are yet to believe in the name of Jesus or you are a backsider, this is the right time for you to confess Him as your Saviour and Lord.

Bible reading: Psalms 91:1-16

PRAYER FOCUS

1.) Father, I trust you and run into you as my shelter.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
