BIRTHDAYS

Text : Psalms 90:12.

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Birthday is the date on which someone is born or something is created. Everyone is entitled to one of such date once a year.

Usually, this is the time when people are overly excited about who they are and what they have achieved.

The social media has helped immensely in this dimension. At times, you see some telling people on social media that "21 days loading..."in addy to me.." (whatever that means) and so on.

I believe all these are just means of appreciating God for life and calling on well wishers to celebrate with you.

Good as this may sound, it is important for us to know what God truly expects of and from us as regarding birthdays.

Humans' lifespan is counted in days, it is your days that culminate into years, so watch how you spend your days.

From our text, it is obvious that without being taught, man will not know how to number his days.

This numbering has nothing to do with arithmetic but it has everything to do with spiritual accounting.

The International Standard Version says,

teach us to keep account of our days so we may develop inner wisdom.Psalms 90:12.

Whoever lacks wisdom of how to daily account for his time will be void of inner wisdom.

Ephesians 5:16 says, _Redeeming the time, because the days are evil._

Your years is the culmination of days and your days is the culmination of hours (time). When you waste time, you are wasting years and invariably, you are wasting life.

As a child of God, before you spend lavishly on that one day birthday event, take time to reflect on how you have been spending your time with the aim of making necessary adjustments.

PRAYER FOCUS

1.) Father, teach me to number my days that I might apply my heart unto wisdom.

Bible Reading :Ephesians 5:9-20.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
