FAMILY DUTIES- SUBMISSION

Text : Colossians 3:18

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is appropriate for those who belong to the Lord.

In Colossians chapter three, verses eighteen to twenty five, the word of God spelt out what each member of the family should do in order to maintain orderliness in the home.

The very first person that was addressed is the wife. I know there's much talk about gender equality in our world today, but *as children of God, we are not to follow the world's system or ideologies but to doggedly follow His word.

At times, we hear women say things like, I don't have problem with submission in as much as my husband gives his love.

Well, that's one corner the devil is hiding in destroying homes. God never says wives should submit to their husbands if the husband shows her love and vice versa.

The word of God simply says, wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is appropriate for those who belong to the Lord.

To the preachers of gender equality, it is inappropriate for a woman to put herself under the subjection of her husband. But God says this is appropriate to those who belong to the Lord.

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.Ephesians 5:24.

Before you say "I do" to that man, be sure that you are willing and ready to submit to him.

If you are a woman, pray for grace to do that which is appropriate in the sight of God, and if you are a man pray to God on behalf of all the women around you that grace will be poured on them to be submissive to their husbands.

It takes grace to truly submit, yet it is only in submission that a wife finds covering and promotion.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
