MORE THAN ENOUGH!

Text : 2 Kings 4:3  He told her, “Go out to all of your neighbors in the surrounding streets and borrow lots of pots from them. Don't get just a few empty vessels, either. Today, we shall be looking at the story of the widow in our text from another perspective. Though, she experienced the miracle of provisions, but she did not experience the God of more than enough in all His entirety.  One's mindset is a great hindrance to experiencing all of God. Mindset is the very barrier that keeps one from seeing God as He ought to be seen. God is willing to achieve great things and do the impossible through you, but for your mindset. Although, the widow in our text experienced a great miracle of God's provisions, but she did not reach the point of more than enough. She couldn't enter into the realm of "more than enough" because of her mindset. The prophet told her that she should "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all her neighbors—empty vessels; and that s...

ENLARGEMENT

Text : 2 Kings 4:3  He told her, “Go out to all of your neighbors in the surrounding streets and borrow lots of pots from them. Don't get just a few empty vessels, either. Our God is an unlimited God, but your container determines how much you could get from Him.*  The story was told of a poor widow whose sons were to be taken as ransom for a debt owed by their late father. This woman obviously was in a big mess. She is not only poor, but she had just suffered the loss of her husband, which gives her a 'double tragic' title of a poor widow. Now, to put insult on her already inflamed injury, her husband's creditor threatened to take her children away. These children were her only comfort.  Terrible as her situation was, this woman had enough grace to run for help in the right direction. She ran to God for help. *Who do you go to when you are in a fix? It is wisdom to run to Him who is really able to help and not just to sympathizers.*  The man of God gave some instruc...

ANOTHER GOSPEL

Text :   2 Corinthians  11:4   For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. Receiving another Jesus, spirt and gospel can come in a subtle way. And that's the reason you must be a student of the scripture. You must be like the Berea believers. The scripture says that they were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so_ .(Acts 17:11). It is so crucial you check the Jesus that is being preached to you in order to ascertain that it is consistent with the Jesus of the Bible.  Today, we shall be looking at two basic knowledge that can keep you from embracing another Jesus, gospel and spirit. 1. Jesus is the Truth:Anything that is shortfall of truth is not the Jesus of the Bible. *T...

ANOTHER SPIRIT

Text : 2 Corinthians 11:4   For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him . Very explicitly we (God's children) were warned not to believe all spirit.  *Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.*  (1 John 4:1). Hence, *responsibility is laid on you as a child of God to know which spirit is interfacing with you at any given time.*  As a matter of fact, someone you have known to be a child of God may be used to speak wrongly into your life by another spirit.  A good example was what happened between Jesus and Peter just before His crucifixion.  Jesus asked His disciples whom they perceived Him to be. And Peter answered by the Spirit of God that _"Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God"_ ...

ANOTHER JESUS

Text :   2 Corinthians  11:4. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.  *There is no salvation by anyone else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved, except the name of Jesus. ”* Act 4:12. Philippians  2:10 says That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. It's so clear that salvation for mankind is gotten only in Jesus Christ. And this is only gotten through the preaching of Jesus Christ.  However, some folks have taken it upon themselves to preach another Jesus. Note that any message that is centered on self and worldly acquisition in the name of the gospel is another Jesus. Anyone that points men to himself rather than points men to Jesus is another Jesus.  Anyone...

IT PROFITS NOTHING!

Text : John 6:63.  *It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and [they] are life.*  If Jesus declared that the flesh profits nothing, then it means it profits absolutely nothing. Today, we shall be looking at the various perspectives in which God views and describes flesh. The Lord declared in Genesis 6:3, saying, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he [is] indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." God declared man as flesh here because man no longer submits to the leading and Lordship of the Spirit of God. Man has fallen to the point where he no longer acts in obedience to God's spirit but his flesh. Flesh is the life and the nature of man's body and soul. It is the corrupt nature of the soul and body. It is the very life of every man born into this world. Flesh is a life outside of the control of God's Spirit. Jesus said that, "that which is born of the flesh...

DO NOT COMMIT YOURSELF TO MAN-2

Text : John 2:24  But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men. We already considered various scenarios where Jesus' disciples betrayed and denied Him, and these explained why Jesus wouldnt commit Himself unto men. Today, we shall be focusing on the succeeding verse to our text - John 2:25 which stated that _Jesus had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man._ Hence, at no point in time was Jesus dissapointed in man. Jesus did not commit Himself unto man, and He was never dissapointed in man because He knew what was in man. This was because He knew that the measure of one's dissapointment in a person is determined by the degree of one's dependence and trust in that person. The question now is; what has Jesus identified in man that made man unreliable? Jesus knew that the very heart of man is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. (Jeremiah 17:9). With this deceitful heart of man, no man should put his trust i...
