ANOTHER GOSPEL

Text :   2 Corinthians  11:4  

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Receiving another Jesus, spirt and gospel can come in a subtle way. And that's the reason you must be a student of the scripture. You must be like the Berea believers. The scripture says that they were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so_ .(Acts 17:11).

It is so crucial you check the Jesus that is being preached to you in order to ascertain that it is consistent with the Jesus of the Bible. 

Today, we shall be looking at two basic knowledge that can keep you from embracing another Jesus, gospel and spirit.

1. Jesus is the Truth:Anything that is shortfall of truth is not the Jesus of the Bible. *The gospel that is of Jesus is not an opinion or fact, but it is the Truth.

Truth may not be consistent with what is generally acceptable by many, but it does pass the test of time and even transcends time.  Hence, Truth is not what anyone can fight against, for it always prevail.

2 Corinthians  13:8 says, _"For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth."

Anything that is of Jesus and the gospel  is Yes and Amen(True). 

So, when anyone is presenting you a gospel that is full of facts and opinions but void of Truth, that is another gospel. 

One of the basic difference  between Truth and Fact is that, Truth sets free but fact and opinion do not. (John 8:32).

Any gospel that is not confronting your sinful life in order to set you free from its bondage is another gospel.  For the true gospel does sets free from bondage of sin and trespasses.* 

Any gospel that is always expressing grace as a permission for sin and not as a _destroyer_ of sin is another gospel.

2. Jesus carried His cross, and so you must: Any gospel that is assuring you that Jesus has carried your cross for you so you don't have to carry any cross again is presenting you with another Jesus, spirit and gospel. 

Jesus had suffered for us. That is very true. But we must arm ourselves with the same mind by carrying our cross daily. Luke 9:23.

1 Peter 4:1&2 also says _"Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God"_ 


BEWARE, THAT NO MAN LURE YOU INTO BELIEVING ANOTHER GOSPEL BECAUSE SURELY THERE ARE OTHER 'GOSPELS'.


PRAYER FOCUS

1. Father God, give me the grace to endure sound doctrine that presents the true gospel, true Jesus, and true spirit.

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life.
