GULLIBLE BUT INTELLIGENT

Text : Mat 25:31-32

*When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:*

*And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:*

Have you ever wondered why Jesus compared His followers to sheep and not goats?

Sheep has reputation for being stupid, defenceless and harmless creatures that mope about on hillsides doing not very much. They are good for two things: being eaten and producing wool.

According to a study by Keith Kendrick, he said in reality, Sheep are actually surprisingly intelligent, with impressive memory and recognition skills. They build friendships, stick up for one another in fights, and feel sad when their friends are

sent to slaughter. The truth is that sheep are far smarter than we know.,

All these reasons and more are the basis for Jesus' comparism of His followers with sheep.

Below are more of the characteristics of sheep as compiled by Agate Travel and how it really sync with what is expected of us as believers -sheep of Christ. :

1.) *Sheep are Soft-Hearted* Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:1Pe 3:8.

2.) *Sheep are Upright.* LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? note

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. Ps. 15:1&2.

3.) *Sheep are Elegant* . And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. Ex. 28:2.

4.) *Sheep is a meek animal.* Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Matt 5:5

5.) *They are usually very quiet and gentle* And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 2 Tim 2:24, Gal. 5:22.

6.) *They Hold themselves aloof from the world* Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Cor. 6:14.

7.) *In a herd, all the sheep tend to listen to their leaders and show esteem to them.* and He puts forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, *and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.*

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: *for they know not the voice of strangers.* John 10:4-5.

While Sheep may generally be considered as a dumb and gullible animal, when she comes under the tutelage of a good shepherd, she becomes surprisingly intelligent with impressive memory and recognition skills.

Jesus said Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: *but He expects us to be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.* Mat 10:16.

*The question is, ARE YOU A SHEEP?*

Bible reading: John 10:1-29.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
