DO HIS INSTRUCTION

WEDNESDAY, 13th MAY 2026*

TEXT: John 2:5

His mother saith unto the servants, "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, went to Him during the wedding ceremony in Cana of Galilee for a request. She told Jesus that the wine had been exhausted. Mary knew the implication of the wine finishing during a wedding, so she decided to save the day.

It appears Jesus did not give Mary a positive response. He said to her, "Woman, what have I to do with thee? My time is not yet come."

This was more like receiving a "NO" in prayer, but if you look at Jesus' response critically, you will realize it is rather a timing matter. There is God's timing. Don’t forget this.

Mary left Jesus and went straight to the servants, telling them to wait on Jesus for an instruction. She said to them, "Whatsoever He says to you, DO IT!"

Many of the prayer points we often pray to God are born out of disobedience. I mean, they are a result of the fact that we missed out on God’s instruction at some point.

Obeying God is better than sacrifice. Some of our prayers are simply sacrifices. If only we had obeyed, or if we could obey God, there wouldn’t be a need for many of the sacrifices we are offering through prayers. (1 Samuel 15:22).

If you carefully analyze the prayers being prayed in many churches today, you will realize that most of the prayer points are centered on something that we could simply get done through walking in obedience.

For instance, Jesus says, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you." The simple instruction for you is to seek God's kingdom so that all other things can be added, but you have decided to be praying for all other things. This is a misplacement of priority.

It is high time you began to pray thus: "God, help me to do Your will. God, help and give me strength to be able to carry out Your instructions." You need to start praying for grace and enablement to be able to do God’s command.

Apostle Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus thus: _"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him..."_ (Ephesians 1:17).

May you begin to seek out God's instruction and the grace to do and walk in them.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
