TOPIC: *IT IS FINISHED*

TEXT: John 19:30

*When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.*

Easter is a season when we remember the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Easter therefore, is a season of remembrance and  celebration of Jesus' victory over sin, sicknesses death and Satan.
The scripture says, *"...for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil..." (1 John 3:8).*

It is clear from the above that when Jesus said that it is finished, He was actually saying that He has finished destroying the works of the devil and by implication, the devil himself.

The second implication of 'it is finished' is that the salvation project Jesus came for is completed. He completed the work of our salvation by offering himself as the sacrificial lamb on the cross. *"...Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world." (John 1:29).*

*"....and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21).*

In all that you do during this time, do not forget that *Jesus is the reason for the Easter season, and the work of salvation is the product of this season.* Have you received this finished work? Are you walking in this finished work?

 *BIBLE READING:*

John 19:30.

 *PRAYER FOCUS:*

Father LORD, thank you for giving your Son as a sacrificial lamb for my sin on the cross of Calvary.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...
