TEXT: Matthew 18:32
*Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me.*
First of all, we need to know the synonyms of the word, "wicked". This may probably help you look inward and ascertain if there is any measure of wickedness in you, so that you can turn away from it.
The words that are nearest in meaning to wicked are: evil, immoral, malevolent, malicious, nefarious, twisted, villainous.
Hence, if any of the above adjectives describes your character, then God may be looking at you as a wicked servant as well.
You will recall that Jesus Christ, in two of the synoptic gospel, he shared two different parables with his disciples wherein he referred to servants as being wicked.
Let us quickly consider the offence of one of the servants, so you can clearly see what could qualify one as a wicked man.
In the first parable, Jesus called the servant who refused to give forgiveness to a fellow servant of his, a wicked servant. This simply means that *anyone who refuses to give forgiveness to his fellow humans, be it in the church or anywhere; Jesus refers to such one as a wicked servant.(Matthew 18:32).*
See Matthew 18:32: "Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ' *You wicked servant!* I forgave you all that debt because you begged me."
It is very clear from this parable how Jesus regards those who refuse to give forgiveness to their fellow humans. He sees them as being wicked.
You can imagine being in a meeting with a fellow believer who has vowed never to forgive his fellow believer who has offended him. If you should look straight into the eye of such a believer and say to him or her, "You are wicked" You know that people around you will think you are using a very harsh statement on such a believer. But *the truth is, unforgiving people are wicked people: In the same manner, unforgiving Christian is a wicked Christian.*
If you are holding someone in the prison of your heart, you need to quickly let go and forgive the person, lest the Lord continues to regard you as a wicked person. And you know, God never hears the prayers of an unforgiving person.
*"And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.(Mark 11:25)*
*BIBLE READING:*
Matthew 18: 21-35.
*PRAYER FOCUS:*
Father, I receive the grace to always be able to give forgiveness to all my past, present and future offenders.
