WHERE IS YOUR TREASURE?

TEXT: Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Every man on this earth, be it rich or poor has got a treasure.

*To know what and where a man's treasure is, you only need to check the man's heart- the heart essentially shows where your treasure is.*

Our Lord Jesus Christ highlighted two different places where you can lay up your treasure. The place you decide to keep your treasure is where your heart would be.

You could store up your treasure in heaven or on earth. Jesus however advised that you store up in heaven. This is to ensure that your treasure is safe and that your heart journeys upward to God in heaven.

That's the reason God is saying to you in Colossians 3:2 to *"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.(Colossians 3:2)".*

If your treasure are not kept in heaven above, you can't and won't be able to set your mind on things above.

*Where your mind goes, your heart follows.*

A man's treasure includes money, materials and possessions. It can also include non tangible things that you cherish and value.

Can you think about what troubles your heart the most?

Can you think about something that will bring you a great pain, sorrow and agony if you lose it?

Can you think of anything that you are willing to do anything in order to gain or keep?

What is that one thing that gladens your heart the most?

What is that one thing that gives you a sense of peace and security whenever you think about it?

These few questions will help you to know where your treasure is stored up.

I once heard about a man that died on the spot the very moment the government agent demolished his house. While this is a very sad incident, it simply showed what the man treasured the most.

May you receive the wisdom to begin to store up your treasure in heaven so that your heart can enjoy true peace, rest and security.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
