THE LAST DAYS 3

TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:1.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

What King James version of the bible refers to as 'perilous' is also known as difficult times. So, don't be perturbed, if you are aware that we are in the last days, then you should know that we are in difficult times.

A number of features characterised this difficult times. Now, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are not caught in any of these features.

Number one on the list as we have it in our Bible reading is self -love. Our world today is canvasing seriously for this self-love. Some years back, people celebrate you on your birthday, but today, we see things like "happy birthday to me". "I celebrate myself today", and so on.

Now, it is good to have healthy self-love, which includes taking care of yourself, and knowing your worth in God. But to go overboard is to become a lover of self above God.

To be a “lover of self” means to have an excessive, unhealthy focus on oneself. That is, placing personal desires, interests and comfort above God and others.

Among other things, self love includes:
*Self-centeredness* - Always putting yourself first.
*Pride and arrogance* - Thinking you are more important than others.
*Lack of concern for others* - Having little compassion or empathy.
*Living for personal gain* -Decisions driven mainly by “What benefits only you”
*Rejecting correction* -Not willing to admit wrong or grow.

*A lover of self thinks only about himself and places himself above God and others, a Godly person puts God first  and considers others in all he does.*

Don't live your life fulfilling negative prophecies, see to it that none of the signs of end time is playing out in your life.

2 Timothy 3:1-9.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

Father, in a world filled with deception and compromise, open my spiritual eyes and sharpen my discernment. Help me to hear your Spirit clearly and obey promptly in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
