COUNT THE COST

TEXT: Luke 14:28

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down first, and counts the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it?

Whatever task you wish to undertake, whatever  decision you are about to take, or whatever plan you are putting up, our Lord Jesus Christ strongly instructs that you should first sit down and count the cost.

When you begin to learn how to count the cost of your decisions and undertakings , your sorrow and regrets will drastically reduce.

Sitting down to count the cost will always reduce negative impacts in your faith journey and life endeavours generally.

It's possible you've made many mistakes in life in the past, but if you start obeying Jesus' instruction on planing henceforth, your  remaining days shall be full of joy and fulfillment.

*There is always a cost and price attached to every decision you have made or that you will be making.* There is a price to be paid for following the Lord. There is a price to pay for choosing to marry a particular person. There is a price to pay to keep your marriage as well. There is a price to pay to answer God's call over your life. There is a price to pay to raise a child. There is a price to pay to become all that God has promised you.

Yes, our Lord Jesus has fully paid for your salvation, but you also have to pay a price for following Him in order to  stay in the salvation He has wrought for you.
Jesus said unto his disciples, *"If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." (Matthew 16:24).*

Apostle Paul also instructed that you should work out your salvation with fear and trembling, according to what the Lord is working in you both to will and do of His good pleasure. (Phillipians 2:12&13).

*In all that you do on this side of eternity, you will certainly pay a price.  Should you decide not to pay, then you have decided not to achieve anything reasonable or  that is worth your eternity.*

*Everything comes at a cost- even that which is free, it's still at a cost. It's either you are paying or someone is paying on your behalf, whichever way, price is certainly involved.*

Count the cost.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

Father LORD, please help me to always sit down to count the cost of whatever I shall be doing going forward in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
