KEEPING RIGHT ATTITUDE-2

Text: Genesis 45:5

Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

It's clear that Joseph was a prototype of our Lord Jesus Christ in many ways, especially by the very kind of attitude he put up after his betrayal of his envious brothers. He forgave them unconditionally.

Today, we shall be  looking at the different attitudes Joseph demonstrated right from the time his brothers sold him out into slavery.

Joseph gave a magnanimous pardon to his brothers just as Jesus gave to the people who nailed him to the cross. He said, *"...Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do...."  Luke 23:34.* Joseph also handled his brothers like they did not know what they were doing.

The hardest thing to give to your enemies is love, and that's exactly what the Lord is asking you to give them. Jesus said in Matthew chapter five verse 44 - *"But I say unto you, Love your enemies..." bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you" (Matthew 5:44).*

Joseph fulfilled all of the above demands of Jesus Christ. He loved his enemies, he blessed them, he did good to them that hated him and he prayed for them which persecuted him.

It will only take a man who has learnt Christ to obey the laws above.

These are not laws within the reach of the flesh. Only a Spirit filled believer who is full of the Holy Ghost can love enemies and bless those who cursed him.

You can imagine the kind of heart that Joseph who lived a long time before the Lord gave laws through Moses. If Joseph could do all of these without the Bible, Church, Pastor or any preacher whatsoever, then today's believers should be ashamed. We need to do better. We need to beat the flesh to it and walk in the Spirit.

Would you open yourself to God today and receive grace to love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for those who dispitefully use you?

Matthew 5:38-48.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

DECEITFULNESS OF SIN 2

TEXT. Hebrews 3:13  *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin* .  *While deceit is a sin, Sin itself is deceitful.* Sin has the capacity to lure a man to do stuffs. *One of the major vices of the devil is to make sin appear attractive and unharmfult.* If Eve could see what the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be, she would have resisted the deception of the man of sin. She was simply deceived.Gen, 3:6 While it is no news that all sinners are already condemned to deceitfulness of sin, it is sad to know that many children of God (like Adam and Eve), are being easily deceived by Sin. See the case of Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-13. Many Christians today are still playing the same game of smartness this couple played. I call it smartness because that was what they thought they were doing. While they thought they were smart, Peter knew that Satan h...
