A NEW CREATURE

Text: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I know that you are quite familiar with this scripture. This is one of the scriptures that preachers often use to invite unbelievers to Christ. When you however, critically look at this text, you will realize that there is more to it.

It categorically states that, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. The New Living Translation version of the Bible renders it thus:
*"...anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17).*

This is a scripture every believer in Christ Jesus must continuously refer to for the purpose of  measuring and benchmarking their stand in Christ.

You can easily do a quick  examination on yourself by asking yourself the following:

Am I in Christ?
Am I a new person?
Are the old things gone?
Has all things become new?

God is giving every man one condition that results in three things?
The condition is: "If any man is in Christ". Once you are able to genuinely satisfy this condition, then three things must  have happened or are happening to you on a progressive note.

1. You must have become a new person or you are becoming a new person.
2. Old things must have passed away.
3. All things must have become new.

If the above is not your reality, then it does mean that you are not yet in Christ or you are yet to know what it means to be in Christ.

You can therefore quickly settle things with God right now. If you have not confessed Jesus Christ as your Savior and your Lord before, you can quickly repent of your sins and confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior now.

On the other hand, if you are already born again, but you know that you are not experiencing the Newness of all things including "NEW YOU", then you must realign yourself in order to truly experience God's promise.

As believers, we shall be looking at how we must live in the reality of our study text in days.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
