BE READY

Text: Luke  12:40
Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

This statement  was neither made to the unchurched nor to the unbelievers, but to the disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He warned them to be ready for His second coming because He would be coming at an unexpected time. And the same instruction extends to every follower of our Lord Jesus Christ today.

The gospel of Mark recorded Jesus' statement about His unexpected arrival and the required readiness of His disciples as well. He said to them: "Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. *And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!"* (Mark 13:33-37).

The truth is, many people in the church are not taking this instruction to heart. Jesus warned His disciples in which you are part, to take heed,  watch and to pray! If you don't do these three things, the tendency of you being found asleep at Christ's arrival is high.

The coming of Christ will not come suddenly on believers that are taking heed to themselves, watching and praying. But for as many that are not taking heed, watching and praying, Jesus Christ will come upon them like a thief.(Matthew 24:43).

For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others [do,] but let us watch and be sober.(1 Thessalonians 5:2-6).

As people of God, you must pay close attention to your spiritual well being, as per your walk and stand with the Lord. You must be vigilant and pray without ceasing.
You must never allow yourself to be distracted by the happenings in this world and around you. Your focus must not be taken off Christ, who is the author and the finisher of your faith.

*Christ's coming as a thief in the night is imminent and sure, you must therefore pay attention to yourself, watch and pray, so that He will not break into your house suddenly like a thief and meet you unprepared.*

*Will you be ready when the Lord shall come?*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1.) Father, I receive the grace to take heed to myself, to watch and pray lest your coming meet me unprepared.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
