BE READY!-2

Text: Luke  12:40

Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

Since the coming of the Son of man is going to be an hour when men do not expect, it is very certain that many shall be found unprepared. In order that you as His beloved son may not be found unprepared, Jesus had asked you to do three things. We shall be looking into these things  in detail one after the other. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.(Mark 13:33).

1. **Take Heed* :* To take heed is to discern. It can also mean to be able to discern, or pay personal attention to yourself. In order not to miss the coming of the Son of man, you must daily engage in self-examination so as to discern your position in Christ Jesus. This will help you with a personal self examination.(2 Corinthians 13:5) rendered it:! Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

2. *Watch* : To watch, is  to keep awake, to be attentive, and to be ready. This was clearly illustrated by the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25. Five of them were ready  and well prepared for the arrival of the Bridegroom. The other five could not watch to the end. God also wants you to always be ready in season and out of season.

       3. *Pray* : Prayer is  the very key linking activity between heaven and the earth. Only those who are truly praying shall be able to get themselves ready.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1.) Father, I receive the grace to take heed to myself, to watch and pray so that your coming will not meet me unprepared.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
